As for me, I like "Columbo" ... I find the many plot-twists-and-turns to be most intellectually challenging.

In fact, I'm proud to say that I do, on occasion, determine the murderer even before Peter Falk, himself.

And that's more than the prolific posters on FST can say because, well... they're prolific posters on FST.

I figure out the murderer as soon as I read a list of the guests and see who's the biggest star.:ermm:

Also as much like the "Favourite Movie" thread this is basically just rote answers and no one is uncovering any hidden gems here, what again is the purpose of this thread?

That's the series where the star doesn't go to Bel Aire, but instead has to peddle his ass on street corners. Big Willie Style!

Caught The Knick (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2937900/) over the weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed the production values--the surgery FX are equally gross and captivating, they look to be practical. Cliff Martinez's score is composed of anachronistic synths. Works surprisingly well. Might be the highlight of the show. Otherwise, it's essentially House M.D. meets Gangs of New York. Clive Owen in the role is like Hugh Laurie without the acerbic charm. Which is cool given the context.

I'm cautiously optimistic we'll get to see Eve Hewson's boobs before season's end. Being cinemax and all. Take that, Bono.

Battlestar Galactica

I know the feeling. :(

Though not even close to the story line... I'm into the Audiobooks of the "Lost Fleet" series by Jack Campbell and now the "Beyond The Frontier" then "Lost Stars" which is just a continuation of the former. :)

(Perhaps one can picture "Black Jack Geary" as Admiral Adama lost for 100 years in an escape pod, awakening and then leading the fleet home... a stretch, yes, but many of the battle scenes are used by my "minds eye" from the EXCELLENT Scifi TV series.) :alien:

(...especially "Hyper Jumps") :)

IdolEyes787

Scorpion got very cheesy very fast and general wastes some OK characters in it's never-ending quest to be heartwarming.
It also doesn't help that the main character is essentially a douche which might be tolerable if he were at least an interesting douche.

In other news, just when I thought American Horror Story couldn't possibly get any gayer,Neil Patrick Harris joins the cast.
As Ryan Murphy clearly gave up trying to tell any kind of story long ago( half way through the first season to be exact) I'm not so much now watching the show as counting down the episodes until this horrible shit is over.

If your entire knowledge base of starting/running a business comes from watching a reality show, you can save yourself some effort and just donate your savings to a charity. Feed the homeless, or something.

It's trash but obviously they care about making it the best trash possible. That alone makes it deserve more respect than most paint by numbers shows on TV.Also, you get the sense that every character actually matters and isn't just there to say a few lines to advance the plot. That's why I had no idea how the fight between Nola and Burton would end.

The Blacklist

qbio
02-03-2015, 07:32 PM
Current one has to be Justified. Started watching it on Netflix and got hooked pretty quickly. Has some really good character arcs that develop over the seasons. The lead is as cool as and the main protagonist is someone you want to dislike but find it hard to. The final season just started a couple of weeks ago. Well worth a watch.

The Blacklist

Season One of the Blacklist was great with Red's little soliloquies (and as long as you happily forgot Elizabeth was supposed to be a proper FBI profiler :frusty: ).
The first half of season 2 though lacks the energy and pace of Season 1 - it's all over the place and if they are not careful they are going to cock things up and there won't be a third.
