Hello,

I have been using NZBs for a while now but just changed internet provider to TalkTalk in the UK. My first download I had 20 connections and it worked for 5 to 10 seconds (.6 of a MB) then it blocked it. I left it a couple of days and tried just one connection but it doesn't work at all?

Does anyone have any advice please?

Thanks
blanket

What newsreader are you using and what do the logs say? Astraweb EU or US server? Port #?

Have you tried SSL. Maybe contact your ISP first as I can't see anything to say that they are blocking astra.

I am using NZB-o-matic 0.43 port 119 Astraweb EU.

It was working fine when I was on my previous ISP provider.
The logs say the following.

It means copyright trolls are submitting claims under the digital millennium copyright act (DMCA, 1998) with the intention of making content disappear from the Internet. This mostly applies to DDL, torrents, and usenet, but any digital distribution medium would qualify. HBO has developed the reputation for using a small portion of their vast sums of money to pay someone else to diligently accomplish that task.

Also try switching to a better news group downloader as well, something that can get missing parts, unrar & fix par files etc. I used NZB-o-matic, however now using SABNZBD. Much better.

Make sure to use SSL. Than test a few different nzbs, b/c you are using Astraweb, you will have to deal with autotake downs for dmca request.

Than lastly get a better nzb client like sabnzbd and buy a block account from tweaknews.eu as a backup.

Having a backup block account will help when Astraweb is missing blocks.

I tried on port 563,
I got the following error message on the status:

Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 193.202.122.58:563

Though the logs said the following:
[i] - 02/07/2013 06:36:50 - Connecting to (eu.news.astraweb.com:563)
[i] - 02/07/2013 06:31:21 - Version: 0.43.1723.26600
[i] - 02/07/2013 06:31:21 - Engine succesfully started.

Try ssl-eu.astraweb.com. Check your speed on 563 AND 443--use whichever is faster. I use the latter.

The test using ssl-eu.astraweb.com
worked fine using SABNZBD will try to download something later today.

Thanks for all your help.
