hi all

i am trying to install utorrent 64bit server onto my kimsufi, so that i dont have to use wine (as it seems pointless when there is a linux version) but after following numerous guides/tutes, it simply just wont start up. my terminal output is this:

pirate@ks3296835:/opt/utorrent-server-v3_0$ utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-v3_0/ &

whats the problem? i think i have all the correct stuff installed.

tell those guide writers that they are idiots, most of these guides are older than your mom.
If you don't know shit about servers then just get a ready made seedbox, or just stop pirating and go eat a burger.

wow, thanks for that utterly useless reply.

i never realy used torrents because i went for usenet. back then, and still today, it suits me perfectly. but i wanted a bit of a project and would like to get more into torrents aswell. if you are a torrent user then im sure that you would also benifet from having another seedbox in the network.

i can do usenet back to front. am just wanting to learn more about torrents and use it as a fill for what i cant find on usenet. might even switch from usenet to torrents completly.

cheers.

Stick with uTorrent on Windows, and that's actually still accurate. On Linux however (-> seedbox), rtorrent is the standard. More or less all private trackers allow rtorrent as the Linux client of choice.

You should check out the numerous articles on how to set up a seedbox. All the better ones include the setup of rtorrent.

utorrent is a bad choice for linux
i used once for some time but then i switch to rtorrent
rtorrent is best for seed box purpose

What kind of kimsufi do you have? I've got deluge installed on both of mine and am very happy with its performance.
