View Full Version : Trying to find big collectors (just like me)

Hello…

I love to collect almost everything, I have 20 HDDs (2TB and 3TB) with movies, games (PC, Xbox, PS2, Wii, etc), documentaries, books, comics, applications, etc.

But I don't have backups and can't keep up to date with everything.

So I would like to meet someone that also likes to do collections of anything.

Where can I find those people?

thanks!

First place I would look would be mental institutions, followed by psychiatric wards and if that failed I would probably then just follow the smell.:)

Yeah I'm standing downwind so I basically already knew that.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

If they give me more HDDs in a mental institution I would do that!

I would have thought that even to someone who is mental the straightjacket might have been some small indication that it's not on a totally voluntary basis.

If you want I can do all the work (downloading, organizing, etc) and just transfer it to you.

I really don't understand this topic. On any specialty private tracker you'll find people with huge collections. And most trackers have freeleech movie and TV packs that are already organized.
And I'm glad you met IdolEyes787. He's not human, but a SarcastiBot, a software program that's sarcastic 24/7 365 days a year.

So if I'm not misunderstanding you, you're basically saying that I'm the deus ex machina of this place?

Now that I think about it (4 seconds of thought), you might just be. When a thread starter is on the verge of making a fool of himself and seemingly has no way out, you swoop down and rescue him and the thread. When the entire forum has backed itself into a corner and appears moribund, Godlike you appears out of nowhere to rescue filesharingtalk, you pick up the forums on your back and carry them in a new and exciting direction. Every site needs an IdolEyes787.

You mean he's been on this forum since December 2002? That explains a lot of things, he must be simply sick of everybody at this point. :O

Thanks for the info about private trackers, I'll try that option.

Sure you're right that they have huge collections, but if my HDD dies I have to download everything again, one by one, instead, if another person has exactly the same thing that I had in the HDD, then I "just" have to download everything from that person.

You need to burn it all to dvd or blu ray.
MY only dupe account is TheFox. I use that one when I want to be as unfunny as IdolEyes787. :) Fixed.

Maybe forget the internet, and find people you know in real life to supply a HD to clone your stuff. They'd get a shitload of stuff to use, and the existence of 2 or 3 copies would give you some security. If your HD died, you could just copy theirs. There must be many people who'd love to buy a 2TB HD for $70 and get 1000 movies or 600 games.

You're offering to send me your entire collection? That's a bit more than I want to get into right now. I was thinking if maybe some of your comics look interesting, I've been on a bit of a nostalgia trip lately for comics from the late 60s/early 70s.

Ahhh, that explains a lot, thank you.

So...if you can build a sarcastibot, can you build a sexbot?

The answer is in the first post:
"So I would like to meet someone that also likes to do collections of anything.
Where can I find those people?"

Ok, why don't we start with a list of what you've got. You can pm it to me if you want, or we can use email if it's really long.

lol, the answer to YOUR question, not mine :)

You ask
"What is the purpose to start this thread?"

And I said
"The answer is in the first post"

Meaning "The reason that I start this thread was to try to find someone that also likes to do collections".

Can't. "LukeSkywalker has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

Might need to change your settings...

Until he meets the requirements for his status to change from knob noob to poster( 5 posts/15 days a member or something) he can't access the PM function.
Or he could donate for immediate access which I highly recommend or don't.

I am again confused, now you are saying that you started this thread to ask a question that is already answered in the first thread or you most probably know the answer. In a way you are trying to test people. So is it a test? What type of test is this? and where is the question?
