Casablanca 2- Play It Again, Sam

I prefer Casablanca 3D:Strasser's Revenge

Known in Australia* as Casasblanca 3D: This Time It's Personal.

*See post 251

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Geez a forgot all about that one and how it brought us both Jar Jar Binks and the equally adorable tousle-headed moppet Anakin Skywalker.

Is it too late to change my answer?

I hope this comment was nothing but a fly on a hook to try and get a bite and here it is...

Red Dawn was crap... There have been few films that really stand out over the last few years but it is horses for courses when it comes to what films stick in different peoples minds and with that... you could have enjoyed Red Dawn...

My favourite film of all time would be a close call between 'Faceoff' and 'From Dusk Till Dawn' but I would have to say that 'Faceoff' would win it by a nose

IdolEyes787

There are two versions of Red Dawn with the original being schlocky and exploitative but still compelling so basically Face/Off and From Dusk Till Dawn but with better acting.

Jesus,;like if you are going extol a John Woo or a Robert Rodriguez movie, shouldn't it start with the letter Hard Boiled or Desperado or something?

What I got out of Airforce One and I'm being serious,is that the lives of the dozens of people who fell in some cases literally, victim to those terrorists were unimportant just as long as some privileged millionaire survived.I'm not sure but I don't think that's what democracy was intended to be all about.

With all sincerity and no disrespect is intended to your intellectual ability or your intelligence :noes:, for once it would be nice if you just follow the forum topic and keep your analogies of the person/people to a minimum and actually participate.

In other words.... what is your fuckin favorite all time movie... I think everyone here (in this section) would like to hear, including myself...:yup:

So you are saying Movies with Santa in them would be top on your list:rolleyes: That is interesting :)

Myself I do like movies with Chevy Chase and Al Pacino or Robert De Niro in them.

Example...

-Fletch.. Was entertaining
-Analyze This or The Fockers..Also Entertaining
-Casino or Goodfellas.. Also great movies that can be watched multiple times

Saying a statement/comment without even mentioning one of your own favorite movie defeats the purpose of having separate treads. Again make all the comments you want, but at least participate in the actual subject, I think that could have more meaning on why you make comments about other peoples choices and puts some perspective on what you would consider to be your choices.

That's all...
Some people choose not to post in the word section, that is there choice, but keeping with a subject may keep the tread going (and it does), and adding your opinions or comments is not the problem but not adding your own on the subject is.
To me, all that does is deter people from posting..

Again my opinion right or wrong.......

PS. To me your last comment makes me think you are chicken-shit to make your own list, because of the ridicule or bad comments you may get back. There is not a right or wrong answer, just your choice, what can it hurt to tell everyone your own. But just making comments on others defeats the purpose of the tread, and causes the tread and subject to close.
If that is the goal, then all the power to you....
The tread is "What is you all time favorite Movie", I would think most people could never answer honestly on one movie, but it doesn't say you have to explain why you like the movie, but tell us what movie. Again your choice to comment why..
Next time start your own tread and you can describe more detail on the responses you are looking for.

What is your one or list of your All Time Favorite Movies?? Is movies with Santa really it?

Your Friend
Shay

Between Caddy shack and Animal House

And I think the Godfather 1-2 would have to have a honorable mention as well

I've mentioned on numerous occasion what movies I like.I've even mentioned what my father's favourite movie was(Ulzana's Raid). In fact I've laboured long and hard on reviews which no one here on FST will read let alone God forbid comment and some of the time singularly kept this section alive on so if you're asking for me to be penitent then I'm afraid you're decidedly barking up the wrong tree,Rover.

Actually if anything a better question you should maybe ask yourself is why you feel the need to try and control people?

Also as a forum, a statement without a counterpoint is like a debate where both sides take the same position, so like Meg's education, mostly pointless.

Anyway as you seem determined to test the limits of my remaining tenuous loyalty to Meg this site.....
Having a favourite movie or TV show or song is sort of a fluid thing as I'm assuming for normal people all tend to change but I've always liked The Man Who Would Be King for it's high adventure ,A Man For All Seasons for it's underlying theme about doing what you feel is right no matter the consequences and Casino Royale as nigh on a perfect sort of guy movie. That only leaves out about a dozen movies which I probably like better but can't remember.

Cereally dude, you and Grimbley need to get signs made like some businesses have and yours will say "Trying to destroy fun since 2015".:smilie4:

PS Before you ask my favourtite TV show is Q.E.D. which only lasted six episodes back in 1982 and I'm not even making that up.

And now or your entertainment pleasure I now return you to verbless answers entirely consisting of The Shawshank Redemption,FF all movies,Braveheart ,Adam Sandler in anything and Indian movies no one understands.

shaina
09-15-2015, 02:49 PM
Why did you even mention Gribley? He has nothing to do with my comments...And I didn't ask for your resume of FST....

Second of all... You mention opinion once and ridicule people 500 times so don't try to put negativity on anyone else other than yourself (hens Gribley is tired of your shit and I tolerate it because there is some good that does show up every once in a while).

My nature is to try to think of other peoples opinions/likes just as valid as yours, but knocking everyone else(and I am not the only one saying this to you remember), especially if they are new posters and keeping to the subject, and not having the same likes you do doesn't mean they are right or wrong, but you do come across that way at times(and we all may do that at times but you have perfected it), just because someone chooses to like a movie you find terrible, well, add why you think it does after your fruitful analogy of the person or movie....And there will be a lot of repeating because a lot of people may like the same movie...Get over it!!
Just a suggestion.....And I know you have...
And you say you have said your favorites, well you seem to be repetitive of knocking of others choices maybe add new movies to your list here to at least catch up to the comments..

Face Reality.....The Fast and the Furious Made Tons of money, and it didn't do it by mistake, they were entertaining to millions around the world, You didn't like it, oh well!!
Other people did including myself, Just like Transformers and Ironman series...
Make your normal way of commenting and add some movies you like, it may open up someone to your likes in movies... That is all is was trying to say and you blow it out of proportion, that we are taking your fun away... Well it may be fun for you, but if it is just me and you here and you choose not to bring in other people to participate, you are doing a great job...

I have always told you that you are a very big asset here and I stand by it....But jumping into a tread and only making comments of others and not your own makes you look like you are not interested in the subject, and you are sabotaging it instead.....

And you are entitled to your comments and your opinions, but try to add opinions/likes more often, at least that shows you have interest in the subject tread, and not just jumping in because you are bored and there is some action in it..

And I am not telling you to conform to the anybody but don't scare everyone away before they at least get to know you better, and your end comments are not all your type of movies, it is you just being ass!! and you are a veteran here motivate people by adding why you like or dislike your movies or others, maybe it could open up a conversation with some new people. That is what this tread is named, and I would assume to talk or answer about the subject, not obnoxious comments about Ice cream or Bush. If you think that is fun/funny and has anything to do with the Subject here without at least a comment about the persons pick or choice of movies, well you do have to do change your blame somewhere else from Myself and Gribley and a lot of other new posters that will never have a chance here....

And your perception of fun has very little interest in people even returning a response(that is not hostile), that should give you the hint it doesn't always work out the way you think..
And this tread pertains to movies not TV shows so try sticking to that ok..

What is FF all Movies??
The Man Who Would Be King.... I have never seen before and it looks like a good movie I am going to watch it in the next few days... Thanks for mentioning it...
Which Casino Royal ?? The one from 2006 with Daniel Craig or the 1967 version with Peter Sellers??
And for isolating just the all time Bond favorites would be impossible for me because there are so many I loved I could never decide on even 5 just being the top , but Goldfinger would be up there...
I think Daniel Craig really suits the Bond role, and being honest I very rarely go to a theatre to see movies(I fall asleep a lot LOL!!), But the Bond series I do..
Do you prefer a different Bond??

PS. I would never try to control you, but look in the mirror and ask yourself do you think you are funny??
Second... some times small changes can be good for the masses , but you have to care about that first...
Third...Since I have been here on a regular basis, not one tread you started or post in ever keeps on subject because the attacks on you from the actual regulars (meg is the exception)or anybody new that is not interested in your humor(if that is what you call it??)and they just move somewhere else, now look in the mirror again...
It really must be the fault of the hundreds of other members right??:idunno:

I mentioned Gribley because you both seem to have been brainwashed by the same cult but mostly simply because I felt like it.Is there some new rule against that that I missed?

Also I don't usually look in the mirror and contemplate whether I'm funny or not, more along the lines of "Geez my abs are really starting to pop and all I needed to do is workout six days a week for several years and deprive myself of every food I actually like". I do however think that given the competition here by comparison I'm a veritable laugh riot.

As for me personally being able to rid this site of members and I've said this before, would I had the power to sway mature, reasonable people so easily for if I did I probably would be President of the United States right now even though I'm Canadian and it's against the Constitution.

Also the Matrix. This was also fantastic as me and the wife just went to the cinema one day (long time ago) and happened to watch it by chance :)

The Abyss is a very good movie with some great scenes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TObu_DbUdKM) but personally( and it's been a long time since I've watched it so I could be entirely of a different opinion now) the ending sort of let's it down.Which is strange since Cameron's usually pretty deft with that part.

Loved The Matrix when it first came out but since so much is now derivative of it,it's consequently sort of aged badly.

KF Panda a great choice. I seem to recall a lot of Ninjas on roof tops and a tiger being the bad 'guy'.... some crap about blossoms on a magic tree as well. There have been so many good movies over time, I find it hard to pick a favorite. I guess the one that probably got my attention the most, because of the sound and visuals that were ahead of its time, was 2001 A Space Odyssey. I think you have to have seen it when it first came out, in one of the few theatres equipped to handle its sound a visuals, to really appreciate this movie. Yes, any of you who pipe in that 2010 was a better movie, yes it was probably a more entertaining movie. But very much like dozens before and after in that genre. 2001 broke ground.

I'd have to say Louis Malle's My Dinner With Andre featuring Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. Here's a trailer if you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7hSY0QOkII

We watched this in my first sem. It was suggested by a professor whose syllabus mainly included the works of Antonio Negri and Michael Hardt. The class was about capital in late-capital society. The film is remarkably relevant to this line of inquiry, though it was made in the 80s. Very low budget--one can see the camera shaking at times; in other instances, you can see personnel moving to and fro in the mirror behind Shaw and Gregory. The entire film is a conversation, save the opening and ending, but there's plenty of bustle since it happens in a restaurant. It's perhaps the most natural-feeling scripted conversation one can find on film. Excellent film, IMO. If anyone's interested, we watched this film especially because we were doing Andersen, Taylor, and Logio's work on contemporary sociology (https://www.bartleby.com/textbooks/sociology-the-essentials-mindtap-course-list-9th-edition/9781305503083/solutions). You can put the book and the film in dialog, and you won't regret it. :)

Anybody here watched My Dinner With Andre?

My all-time favorite is Inception. It's a ming boggling movie and I really loved the deep concepts of that movie. I think it's a must-watch film.

Inception was decent, just too damn hyped. Triangle and Shutter Island did the whole mindfuck thing better, in my opinion.

That's insane. The foundation of a good movie is a straightforward easy to follow plot with a happy ending and a lot of guns and boobs. In the absence of guns then martial arts is also acceptable.
Geez, it's like some of you have never even attended film school.

This must be why The Room bombed.

Poor marketing. The Room is shitty title. It probably would have been more successful if they called it The Room 1984.

I am in love in watching horror movies. So, my all time favorite movie was Conjuring. Avengers also added in that.

Way too many to list. Lol.

But I recently watched one of my favorites ... The Crow featuring Brandon Lee. His last film sadly after his death on set.
