Has anyone else ever been offered free newsgroup access because of their knowledge in usenet/newsgroups in general ? Yes I have and still have it to this day.

You can apply for it too.

It actually is. It was from a big known newsgroup provider.

tell us who it is so we can apply. I posted several free ones, so what is the big secret?

Plus everyone should have to pay to play. It keeps people like you out of the better ones.

There's no way not to come across as an asshole pointing this out. But it's not meant as such.
How can 40 some odd post count for knowledge of anything?

Actually I do remember a Usenet seller saying something about a free account for someone helping them in some way, and I thought why would someone starting a business like that need any help. That was a LONG time ago though, and I don't remember the details.

Not a lie... Just a gross twisting of the facts to make it a more interesting thread.

Fail-thread in that not more people were curious and it didn't became one of those massive troll-fests FST is known for ;)

A successful thread is one that devolves into such a muck fest that it falls below the substandards of the internet for intelligence, and has to be locked by a mod to prevent the apocalypse. o_O

There's still hope....
