modding my xbox

Hello Everyone,
I'm a total noob and just wanted to know is it even worth modding my xbox at this point since the Xbox One has released?
Does Microsoft plan to Drop the 360 or make games for both?

Yes get it modded, all the back catalogue of games makes it worth while plus you can play online. Make the most whilst you can as I doubt this will be a possibility on next gen consoles.
