Index Site For Full Bluray Movies

Hi guys, im aware this site has full bluray movies but the choice is quite limited, can you suggest some index site who have bluray sections and have a good selection. After upgrading my home cinema set up i want to get the high def surround formats which only seem to be available in the full bluray downloads.

One thing to look for, on any 'indexing' site, is just exactly how far back does that index go.

FST unfortunately lost a rather huge amount of all kinds of indexed items (including full BD50/25 rips) a few months back. I was doing some back checking on a couple of server plants this last week (okay, Astra/Giga/Block), and for one thing the 'open' (non subscription) indexers (primarily nzbindex and binsearch) only go back between 1000 and around 1300 days max.

Seems like a lot (that's 2.5 or so years) but most of the retention of those servers mentioned go back to around what I call 'day zero' which is July/Aug08, so that is close to 2000 days total (backwards from today).

So, that's about twice what the indexers have 'on tap'. Which is actually pretty bad from my perspective, as there are LOTS of postings in those 1000+ days that aren't indexed, and there for 'lost' unless one (here's a possible work around) has a good (read: expensive) Giganews account where one can utilize their 'built-in' search engine, or use one of several news readers that 'link' to either GN or other providers to, again, do some serious searching.

It's really too bad that the 'free and open' searchers don't do a better job; of course, it probably costs $$ to do so, and it's too bad FST lost all that good indexing when they crashed.

So, one can take a look at any indexer, and see what gives as far as 'their' retention, and see if it 'matches' the retention of the servers (2000+ days). I have a rather huge collection of nzb/nfo's that go back further than the 'open' indexers (would 'backfill from 1000 to 2000 days), and am mulling re-uploading them maybe, just to give folks a better look. But it would be a 'end of year' project for sure.

That, I'm afraid, shows a lack of knowledge on how blu-ray (or dvd for that matter) release schedules are 'managed' across the different 'zones' of the world. It has gotten a bit more 'standardized' in the past few years, but movies that may have seen their theatrical release 5 years ago, and are just today released in Region A, may have been released in Region B 4 years ago.

One may 'extrapolate' that to something released theatrically last year, which is now on bluray in RegB, but has a release scheduled for a year from now (*maybe*) in RegA.

Besides which, a lot of folks will tell you that the film 'industry' is simply turning out more **** the 'newer' it is.

Got an example where region 'x' was released a whole year after region 'y'? It's an unlikely scenario and who gives a shit about the region if you're sucking down the whole BD25/50?

Once again... total lack of knowledge shown. I suggest you go to a good release site for RegA (say hidef digest at http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/releasedates.html), and you'll see a TON of stuff that is 'scheduled' for release x months from now (but still may not be) but has been out for almost forever in RegB.

However, the 'general problem' with those RegB releases is the lack of either any extras, or extras that were available (or licensed) on the SD DVD release years ago, but which don't make it onto the BluRay release.

Here's an (recent) example: Sleepless in Seattle. Released in RegB well over a year ago, but without any extras, including the Nora Ephron (director) commentary (was on DVD Release). It finally was released a couple months ago (but under the super-expensive Twilight Time branding) in RegA.

Here's another: Runaway Train. Still not released in RegA, but luckily has a goodly number of extras on it, probably not worth waiting for the RegA (which has NOT been scheduled for release in RegA that I can find)

There are tons more examples. I usually 'mark' them on my Amazon 'wish list', and here are some more that have RegB releases in the past 3+ years without a RegA release:

There are some that lingered for a long while in RegB that recently have just become available in RegA as well, due to some contract changes between studios and distributors.

The aforementioned Twilight Time (Screen Archives at http://www.screenarchives.com/display_results.cfm?category=546) has been slowly releasing lots of RegB movies that lacked any release in RegA, I suggest you go there and see. But very expensive.
But they do add back in the DVD extras that, generally, the RegB releases lack.
