Thought I'd post something not involving alt.binaries* for a change. Caught this on /r/usenet, interesting talk about a.a.m and analyzing post metadata. Some stuff on pgp, nym servers, remailers and what not. Seems relevant in the current climate, maybe a bit more geared towards older users and crypto-nerds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Tj6c2Ikq_E

I was really into a lot of that some 15+ years ago (and even further back, when usenet folks were still rubbing two sticks together to produce fire). Then CD ripping kinda took over, and then DVD rips. Then BR rips. At that point, can barely get two brain cells (or the time, both human and machine) to do much else. Actually, kinda sad.

Still in the 'catching up' mode with all of that. May slow down a bit after the first of the year to catch my breath, need to expand my Raid/NAS by another 24TB or so, that's a fairly big project to complete. At that point, I may be able to take a breath and see what gives with some of that.

Wow, good post. Brought back a lot of memories for me. I still remember getting my first SCSI Plextor to burn with, all that header pulling in Agent, kill filters, and all that fun PGP stuff. I kinda miss it but then again I don't think I could find 1-2 hours a night to go through headers now a days, NZBs have made us lazy to a degree.
