Heads up on Blocknews/US Skips/Fades

In doing some checking of some of the major usenet plants out there today (the usual, Astra/Giga/Blocknews) I quickly noticed that Blocknews/US is having major skips/fades, right from things an hour old to 30+ days.

I haven't had much time to really review things there, but it appears to be really, really, bad, and looking at their paths on things posted from either Astra or Giganews, it seems to be taking a really circuitous route through eastern Europe and Russia.

Which may explain why things posted from other US plants, even a day later, are missing tons of parts.

Just a heads up, I'll be taking a deeper look at them over the next day or two, but if you're counting on getting any 'fills' and such from these folks, I'd look elsewhere for the time being.

It appears that Blocknews is slowly repairing things; of course, don't know exactly when it started skipping (both the US and EU plants were, at least according to my further testing), but it does 'appear' like corrective action has begun and a fair amount of repairing has already taken a fair chunk of the major skips out.

Hopefully will continue. The rate of repair looks very much like when Giganews has gone off the rails, so I'll see in 3-4 days or so if things pretty much are completely repaired.
