I remember seen a yellow banner with "Welcome noob..." a couple of days ago. I closed it as I thought it could be a glitch as I've been a member for about 8 months.

You have to be patient young padawan, the system will update every 15 mins or so (might be a tad longer with all these noob posts) and then it spits out the new stats, and also any new status due will be automatically processed, :simples:

It seems to me that too many people see this place as an NZB dump that happens to have a forum, instead of the other way around. I assume staff are just trying to get a bit more activity on the forum side, instead of the same 10 or so people that do most of the posting all the time. (If it's even 10...Maybe less)

So here is the thing. I am perfectly fine that the Admins have decided to generate more traffic on the forum and not just have this site as a nzb dumping ground. I would hope that next time this time of change is mentioned ahead of time to let people know instead of just pulling the rug out from underneath. At times I dont have much to say on the forum and I will correct that just for this site as I have been registered with this site and have enjoyed it for awhile. My question is now if I make posts right now am I still waiting 15 days for my status to even change since I have been registered? Let me know as I am trying to find out what the accurate information is. Thanks.

I do not think making registered users post is going to accomplish anything other than a temporary increase in posts. you aren't going to change human nature. I'm a lurker, going to remain a lurker. I come to this site almost everyday and like the site. I've commented rarely in the comments for a particular nzb. wonder why those comments did not count towards this new mandatory 2 post rule. I've also hit the thanks button when getting nzbs. that's as much as I wish to participate. seems something is going on behind the scenes here. I'd like to support the site, but do not like being forced to post. I just tried to donate something cause I do like the site and appreciate the effort of the folks who run it. it seems that I can't just use a credit card to donate, only paypal(which I do not wish to join). so if the site needs help, maybe it would be better to just say that, and make it easier to donate.

Let me assure you I'm not part of any "bureaucracy." I had no say in the site changes, and I too have questions about the methodology. The Night of the Long Knives Noobs had a way larger impact on the mod staff and poor veteran members as they played triage to a whole bunch of confused users.

I too have been registered for well over six months now. I never had any problems before accessing the nzb's . Well looks like we are all gonna learn to use the forums if we want those pesky nzb's :-)

I think that everything that could be said on this matter has already been said, and if people's mandatory two posts are to be one in the hello thread and another one here saying "I like this, encourages participation" (to promptly vanish forever) or "I don't like it, 2 posts is too much", it defeats the purpose behind this already not-so-bright requirement. Closed.
