A film cannot be a "favorite" if you haven't seen it yet.

Of course none of this actually matters to you as you are just spamming so you be able to download NZBs just like the other people in this thread.

And one wonders why I hate the internet.

I honestly wouldn't even care about all the fluff posts if any of the people making them made even minimal effort to actually follow up on things they posted.
Sadly not the case though as it's abundantly apparent that most a) Don't bother to read anything in a thread beyond the title b) have zero intention of ever posting again

Anyway I know I have said it before and probably will say it again but fuck the fuck off you useless, stupid, self-serving,self involved wanks. :)

All You Need Is Kill. Which I just found out was retitled, Edge of Tomorrow. Lame. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1631867/ I like that Cruise still does genre pics, and I'm a sucker for the whole Groundhog day causality trope.

Snowpiercer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1706620/ Region B bluray hits in April. Who knows when Weinstein will bother with a stateside theatrical release.

transformers 4 all the way

For the briefest moment I believed the fourth installment would redeem itself by not having Shia LaBeouf, as I can't watch anything with him in it without being reminded how much of a giant tool he is for not only plagiarizing an entire script but also plagiarizing his apology when he got caught.

Then I realized they replaced him with possibly an even bigger tool in the form of Mark Wahlberg, who was addicted to cocaine at the age of 13, threw rocks and yelled racial slurs at African Americans, and on two separate occasions beat a vietnamese man with a stick, knocking one unconscious and permanentky blinding the other in one eye. He then took it upon himself to "forgive himself" for what he had done without making amends to the victims in question.

You could say to watch the movies for the plot rather than for the actors, but then again I doubt Transformers will have much of that either.

my personal favourites of last months: American Hustle (2013) (http://moviescout.tv/stream-american-hustle-2013-online.html) (would rate 7.5 from 10), Divergent (2014) (http://moviescout.tv/stream-divergent-2014-online.html) (would rate 6.0 from 10, but it's ok to watch), Need for Speed (2014) (http://moviescout.tv/stream-need-for-speed-2014-online.html) (would rate 6.5 from 10, but i like racing movies so it was for me fine to watch it) and I, Frankenstein (2014) (http://moviescout.tv/stream-i-frankenstein-2014-online.html) (would rate it 6.5 from 10: the movie has rather good special effect, the story I didn't liked, but such movies you watch once and forget the next day)

I'm curious to hear what you have to say about it. My gf better articulated the particular aesthetic as: "dystopian whimsy/grim Wes Anderson." Hipster bitch.

I wonder how something ostensibly oddball like Guardians of the Galaxy gets a huge ass summer blockbuster release & promotion while this is relegated to a couple art house venues. *shrugs*

The powers that be have to keep this sort of film out of the eyes of the masses or else people would begin to see the injustice, dehumanization, and emptiness of the system, man. :whistling

Actually, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I did not give it any analytic thought until I was through with it, which did make me realize I had seen most every idea used in other films- just not so many of those elements mixed together. I enjoyed that there were more than a couple "surprises" and that we weren't limited to a single moment of wow-ishness.

This is one of those "elements"...

A short and annoying primer on the business of show.

Business is like a greedy child. It wants everything yet craves stability and fears the unknown. It would rather grow comfortably fat on junk food than momentarily suffer eating broccoli even if it knows that it will be the better for eating the broccoli.

The director had a career as a visual effects person:ermm: , the guy who wrote the script has zero experience and the man who wrote the story is responsible for The Expendables and the atrocity that is the movie version of Doom.
If you are banking on the cast somehow saving it then I should point out that before hitting with Argo,Cranston starred in John Carter,Red Tails, the Total Recall remake and Rock of Ages.

Had about an hour of driving between the trip to take the kids to grandma's and coming home. Occurred to me that the preview contains about 6* instances of Cranston saying [Oh god, no!] or variations of such. With your analysis, we may not be looking at Best Picture awards, nor Best Actor.

All that considered, while Godzilla may come from the deep, the scripts never have. Let's just hope we don't see anything to do with earthworm specialists. :pinch:

*EDIT- OK, only two, but there was a third one implied as the big door slams with his wife inside.

Also clearly standards aren't what they used to be when the guy giving the featured Godzilla review on IMDB says something like "the good popcorn fun of Pacific Rim?"

I don't mind the use of animation for creating characters such as in PotA. The alternatives:

http://i.imgur.com/7HHeEJc.jpg?1

http://i.imgur.com/wMPqECz.jpg?1

http://i.imgur.com/f7Qp889.jpg?1

I never liked the fake look of the original series. Tim Roth was fantastic in his 2001 role; Michael Clark Duncan was memorable; Paul Giamatti and others weren't so much. The actors went through hours of makeup each day. Why would you feel that heavily latexed actors would be superior to animations based off of actors and/or (in this case) conceptualized animal movements?

Rejecting detailed, animated characters offhand is similar in nature to pointing out that backdrops look phony in older movies. Where these shows are failing is not in the use (or even overuse) of special effects, but in the failing to tell compelling stories.

As for the words: "fake" is relative, as I was saying. Goofy costumes vs heavy latex vs computer rigging. The latest (and it will get more realistic) generation of "apes" is the most "believable" of the 3 incarnations. I'm just not inclined to offhandedly say that is bad.

Pffft, I could still leave her dissatisfied with just the tip. :01:

Edge Of Tomorrow

I hate to rain on your crazy parade but the thread title says 'films to look forward to....' it's been released at the movies and on Blu-ray, so unless you live in Borneo or Outer Mongolia, or are the victim of repeating time yourself then there is nothing to look forward to here spotty.

A watchable version of The Salvation (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2720680/) has surfaced on IPT. It is cropped a bit, and did not want to restart after I paused it. It has hardcoded gibberish (non-English) and the gibberish-spoken parts don't have subtitles. However, it beats waiting eternally without a US release date.

I might give it a go even though it's been described as a "revenge Western " and Westerns sort of need to be morality tales to be true to the genre. That said I'm fine with it just as long as the hero doesn't eat anybody.

Also happy belated Birthday,homo.

After the video failed to continue after pausing, I decided to go to sleep last night. Have not finished it yet, but it's not Once Upon a Time material. You pretty much get the gist of his motivation early on. Bad guys pay. Eva Green has secks.

Off-topic b-day stuffs:

Wasn't actually to excited about my birthday- no significant milestone; nothing planned. My wife, son, and myself have had a horrible cold/plague for the past week. Coincidentally, October 1st marked the 20th anniversary of our meeting (the day we typically celebrate since I took over a decade to do the official marriage thing :blushing: ). We "celebrated" by sharing a can of Progresso soup.* :yay: That said, after attending class wearing a germ mask (wish more people would do the same), I arrived home to some very excited kids who had helped mom make some cupcakes. TBH, their true celebratory spirits made for the happiest birthday I've had in many years.

Finagled an Amazon Fire TV (http://www.amazon.com/Fire-TV-streaming-media-player/dp/B00CX5P8FC) out of my annual avoidance of demise reward- which has exceeded my expectations.* Will be sideloading XBMC on it in the near future. Others who have done so seem to find it very capable. Right now, between Prime, Netflix, and Plex, (it plays casual games, too) I'm living room media satisfied  ...

* I'm not an entirely heartless cretin, we are setting aside a decent chunk of tax refund $$$ for jewelry to mark the occasion. :) The recent-ish purchase of the Canon 70D ate up current resources.
**I've had the device for about 3 weeks.

OK first clearly with all that Amazon Fire TV sideloading XBMC Prime, Netflix, and Plex I'm living room media satisfied bullshit you have obviously mistaken me for skiz in which case I am debating killing myself.I just need to settle on a suitably horrible way.
Other than that, as for your birthday stuff I would say that a wise man counts his blessings not his troubles or something equally sage I learned while studying to be a Shaolin priest.

Off-topic stuffs better suited for a hardware fred...

Do you have access to Amazon services in fake Australia, Art? I know we've discussed my use of set-top devices, but this one outshines them all significantly. XBMC on the Fire TV. (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Amazon_Fire_TV) Managed to get mine for $80 with student discount. Don't think a comparable silent device about the size of a square smartphone can be built for the same.

Sure if you want flash over function.

If you had thought this through you would realize that though grisly,a woodchipper would likely kill you in a couple of seconds flat.Where is the agony in that?
I'm thinking based on initial tests ,that either diving face first into a large hill of mutant fire ants or suffering a particularly bad paper cut would be the way to go.

You said 'horrible' not 'agonising' which is all in the perspective. It is not really that horrible for you since you will be deceased, but it will be truly horrible for who ever discovers your corpse salsa spread all over the landscape/walls you get the picture.... And then there is the funeral arrangements..... no open coffin for you.

It really is horrible..... :yup:

It ticks all the boxes of your original inquiry :yup:

People will even have to be circumspect when talking about your untimely mincing death. Even common things like 'he went to pieces at the end' would be tacky in this situation....

Last Saturday I just went to see "Maleficent" and I loved it!. I believe this is one of Angelina Jolie's best characterizations. Loved the "dark" and "good"side of the character and the music was really good, specially the song "Once Upon a Dream" sang by Lana del Rey.
I really like movies where they show you a possible other side of a classic version. They make you think
If you like this kind of movies, watch it and tell me what you think I really enjoyed that movie as well for the same reasons :yup:
I also think that the effects were great! Effects-wise, my favorite was when Maleficent was casting her spell on the baby. That was stunning!
