Hello,

I'm using Newsleecher for 7 or more years. I'm paying the licence for having access to the supersearch. 5$ monthly.

For me it's a perfect software, extracting and using .PAR to repair files if needed all automatically.

There's other software peoples using here I can try? Maybe a better one?

Thanks for your reply

Yes, I know grabit. Tried before newsleecher... And yes, Newsleecher is a lot better.

Thanks for your reply :)

For PC, Newsleecher is by far the best. For Mac, Unison is the only real option.

I was a loyal Newsleecher subscriber too. However, I now use Sabnzb. I have it setup on my server to do my downloads, extraction & it put stuff in folders. Eg 1 for tv stuff 1 for movies & 1 for apps/music.
I miss supersearch but there are search engines out there & nice sites like this that can help you out too :)

Alt.binz is less buggy than Newsleecher. http://altbinz.net/index.php?page=about

I think so. I had never used it before but found some good guides just googling.

Been playing with 6.5 Beta 3, and I've found everything after 5 is ridiculously buggy. Ends up crashing daily. When they say "beta," they mean it. Still my favorite client for viewing headers.

How does Newsleecher compare to Newsbin or Usenet Explorer when using headers instead of nzbs?

Also the people mentioning alt.binz, free(old version) or paid(Latest version)?

altbinz all the way. Basic download client. Nothing special. Buy if you want.

SAB is great for automation etc, comes down to personal preference really.

I like how Niouzefire works, less CPU and RAM use. It has search engines in a free version, unlike AltBinz.

Agree with posters above. Alt.Binz is easy to use and does everything I need.

And the price - free - isn't too high. :)

I used to pay for Newsleecher yearly, but stopped after they went into subscription mode.
The latest version of Newsleecher I can use with my license is 5.0 Beta 17.

Anyone current subscriber with Newsleecher? How does it compare to latest 6.5 Beta 4? worth it?

I used newsleecher a long time ago, easy enough to get around but was not to happy with the unraring aspect. Switched to Sabnzbd and have never been happier. easy interface and you can set up automatic downloads. I use dropbox with it and it works great.
