Because coliva is ritual food and one of the most powerful symbols of faith. Being a good Christian, I cooked it whenever a character of the beloved serial "Game of Thrones" died.

When the Game of Thrones had just begun and Jon Arryn died, it seemed inappropriate to me to watch carelessly, not even making a small glass and sharing some of the packets through my neighbors. I had no idea what was going to happen. There were episodes when I was making dozens, hundreds of colivas. When it was the Battle of Blackwater Bay, I had to rent an industrial hall and have to hire ten chefs.

Moreover, I decorated the colivas with the emblem of the house from which the deceased person was part of. When a Lannister died, I was making a coliva with a fiery lion. When a Martell died, I set the candy in the shape of a sun pierced by a spear. When Jon Snow died, instead of 'Eternal Commemoration' or 'Valar morghulis' I wrote 'For the watch' with cocoa.

Because the neighbors had been crop-fulled, I ate much of the coliva, thus gaining considerable weight. I hope for the next season to be a more peaceful one! However, I specify that I have put aside some tons of pearl barley.
