Question regarding requests

Hey guys, so I just joined, and hope to participate & stick around for a while. I'm hoping that eventually some of the fine people here will be able to help me find the things I'm looking for, while also learning how to do it myself. As a n00b, what is the policy on making torrent requests? Or just for help locating hard to find files? Particularly of an adult nature ;) Or are such requests frowned upon?
