I currently use newsleecher with superseach built in and they charge $11.00 a month but everything is gone by the second day even though they have 1800 day retention
is there another newsreader with a search engine built in and if not what is the best newsgroup site for archived binaries

Hey.

Most probably :
This has nothing to do with Newsleecher and its search engine. It's caused by takedowns impacting your usenet provider.
Newsleecher just searches, your provider stores stores the files.

To my mind comes a newsreader GetNZB (http://getnzb.com/) with integrated NNTP access and usenet search (binsearch, nzbindex, findnzb).

If you are looking for something simple like a newsreader with built in search that can help your issue of takedowns, use Newshosting's browser. It has a built in auto search that you can use to download new nzbs as they appear on the index. If you are looking for a more automated option, use NZBGet in combo with sickbeard or couchpotato - automation of downloads is your friend here... that and good primary and filler usenet accounts.

Niouzefire has nzbindex, binsearch, and nzb.cc built-in.

UsenetServer has free Globalsearch that'll help you find anything you could possibly be looking for.
