As I read somewhere that UB wasn't hit by takedowns and because they have an easy-to-set free trial, I gave UsenetBucket a try today.

https://www.usenetbucket.com

They resell XSNEWS access.

I tried 3 posts, all clearly named, from high profile HBO shows.

Using Tweaknews, i was able to download the GoT post fine (I had to use a few par files though) while the other two came up short, 67 of 100 for TD and 503 from 844 for SFU.
It seems about right for Tweaknews as far as takedown go.

Using the trial account from UB, I was able to download 2 complete par files from the TD set. And that was it.

They do offer good prices, a great laid-out control panel and interesting means of payment, but as far as takedown go, they don't seem to be a great option.

Obviously this is a quick test, more would have to be done to get a complete picture.

Edit : and if you still want to get a susbcription with them, get the free trial, let it expire and you'll get a 20% discount via email.

Hi, I just subscribed to UB. Can you share with me how many incompletes you are getting along with any DMCA takedowns? Appreciate it. Thanks

I was thinking about UB over frugal but then sucks when I read this ... wasn't aware of the take down thing in usenet. Does frugal do any take downs at all?
