User DRM has started again to post nice stuff in alt.b.x-files. However its pw protected and their web site 'give-me-all.org' is no longer there.

Does anyone know how to get passwords for these posts?

TIA

The general rule is to avoid password protected files, for there's usually some kind of scam on the other end of it.

Instead, you could try seeking files with their labeling obfuscated. Search more on that subject.

Yes and no. If you visited either 'the google' or more directly, EFF/Chilling Effects, and read the DMCA takedown notices, you'd find that title/labeling obfuscation does little if anything to 'hide' things that aren't encrypted, and it's encryption that 'does the job' so to speak whether it also has any obfuscation or the title is totally 'in the clear' (or has some minimal obfuscation).

True, that some/most so encrypted are some sort of scheme of one type or another, but a lot aren't; it may be worth it to try and 'crack' the scheme that particular poster may be employing. I took a quick look and most of the files in question are really fairly small (compared to, like, full BD50 movie files), so again, it may be worth the application of some micro-watts worth of brain power to try and fugger it out.

Lot of German stuff for one, plus he's crossposting to 3 other groups. Maybe one of those will provide you a clue?
