I suppose the title says it all. I would like to know the setup you guys have for gaming.
I have both a P.C and PS4.

I built the PC for Star Citizen and use my PS4 as my general game station.

Just PC, sold my macbook to build it, 780Ti with a FX 8350. I did have an Xbox One as well but once I played a couple of games on that PC... the xbox just looked like trash

PC is used for FPS games...only way to play them as far as I'm concerned. I use my Xbox for sport games.

I built up a PC quite a few years ago and gamed with it a LOT...but I recently got a PS4 and have been having fun with that too. Haven't had the drive to upgrade my PC for awhile because it would be a doozy. New MoBo and stuff to get it anywhere good enough to play the newest games.

I like the "plug and play" aspect of my console.

But I like the input options of a P.C. Mouse, keyboard and joystick FTW.

I have a board with a bunch of squares on it.It might be low tech but the graphics are still incredibly lifelike.

I also built a PC but I use that exclusively for furry porn.

PC for me as I hate joypad type controllers. Mouse and "asdw/space/shift/control" I find natural after too many years of playing.

However, to contradict myself, consoles are much better for family type games (front room gaming) when used with motion controllers

For me, I think it honestly depends on the game. You ever try to play halo wars or sims on a console? Not fun. PC mouse movements and a full board of programmable keys really open up possibilities consoles don't have. But I personally like consoles more, the controllers and easy to use party chat makes playing with friends just more fun. I know PC has programs for voice chatting but the fact that its not within the game kind of throws me off. :/

I was an old school PC gamer but as i got older consoles were just easier to keep up with. no upgrades, drivers, etc to worry about.

But lately I've started loving the old school RPG renaissance on PC... most don't require the latest and greatest to look good and they bring back good memories!

PC. Why? Because the versatility of the system and the room scale vr. Just try "onwoard" for once, and you never want to go back to ordinary shooters. Consoles are great for couch gaming,

Why restrict yourself to one or the other?
I have a 4K PC, PS4, XBox1, XBox 360 and Switch and just use the appropriate tool for the job.

Want to play online PVP, jump on the PS4 or XB1 to avoid encountering hackers/cheats.
Single Player or co-op, use the PC.

You're confused because concerning wealth as a person of the Jewish faith you think in terms of diamonds.

Not just diamonds Idol, any " Valued Gem Stones" will suffice, as well as "Precious Metals" ;), you could call it a tax free growth fund:01:..

On another note... Not sure the last time you were in a Walmart during Christmas or Thanksgiving?? And really viewed who was purchasing video games and consoles, forget other electronics?? But i can tell you it ain't rich or middle class people buddy!!, they are sitting at home on there PC now and making a few clicks and waiting for there purchases to arrive at there door, and that is without delivery fees as well!!. And having to deal with mobs of people;)...

Oh the good ol days Idol.........

But, my real point is that if you really look at most households today, no matter what income?? There is usually more than one game console, you just have to look at sales, and a bit of common sense;). And i will add that i have not paid one cent for a game or console in years (since original xbox360 was released), but i do have more than one game console, and again i don't consider myself rich??..
I would assume you have more than one or three game consoles you have purchased?? Is that false??

IdolEyes787
07-10-2019, 06:41 PM
I have more than one or three game consoles that I purchased 10-20 years ago or in layman's terms I have more than one or three fairly expensive doorstops.

Also the last time I was in a Walmart I think was around five years ago.

I have more than one or three game consoles that I purchased 10-20 years ago or in layman's terms I have more than one or three fairly expensive doorstops.
Exactly, but you still purchased consoles, be it a game you really wanted to play or have?? Exclusive maybe to a specific console as well?? To me that is why Nintendo is genius keeping there main line of games exclusive...And you saying expensive then!!!! Look what the games costs now!!

Also the last time I was in a Walmart I think was around five years ago.

So what?? Value Village or No Frills are more frequent shopping places for you rather than Walmart:unsure:, or do you have some Indian/Eskimo tax exempt card or membership you shop at?? Really and truthful that is hard for me to believe your statement.. Even my kids today do a ton of purchasing online but they still go to assorted grocery or purchase in box stores?? Do you think if you had a survey when was the last time you shopped in a Walmart, the majority of people would say "Around five years ago"??......

And to add i have a Xbox One and a Playstation 4 that i use occasionally for watching Netflix, so it is one level above door stop:D.
My older son actually has a Nintendo Switch...........

The PC vs Console issue has swung back and forth. Always been a PC person myself- my first computer was the self-build Sinclair MK14- and I coded games for it. So the console never felt 'right'.

But today the PC side is looking very wobbly, as AMD rises (at last) but then happily screws over the PC base with insane GPU price rises, and a deal with Sony and MS to hold back better GPUs until the new consoles arrive.

The new consoles will have better GPUs than the current 2080TI (few of you can believe this today- but its true). Yet their selling price is likely to be no more than 500 dollars (Sony will be more with the VR option).

Today AMD wants 300 dollars for the 8-core CPU alone, and 400 dollars for a (5700xt) GPU alone that will be <50% of the GPU power of either next gen console. Then with a PC, you need all the other components. People building AMD based gaming PCs today are convinced the next gen consoles will be no better- and they are massively wrong.

The only thing that can kill off the gaming PC is consoles better and cheaper in almost every way. Add in the fact of jaw dropping Sony exclusives that won't be on the PC, and I seriously expect a better than 50-50 probability that I'll finally have to go console- and I really really really don't want to do that.

But like I said, today, 99% of PC and console fans have no idea just how powerful Sony and MS's next are going to be. Both companies are currently trying to fake each other out with false low specs. I'd say there's a good chance one will go for >8 zen cores, and that both will have at least TWO GPU chiplets. I just don't see, given the greed in PC component prices, how the gaming PC can compete.

Been playing RTS and FPS on PC forever.
Can't stand Console controllers for these types !

Yes, keyboard and mouse mandatory for me. Console gamers don't know what they are missing.

I somehow finished Quake II on the PlayStation, but still completely agree with this :turned:

Should I get a Nintendo Switch (love Super Smash Bros and RPG), PS4 or Xbox?

Both tbh, I used to be PC only but the gap between console and PC has got less and there are more console exclusives these days.

I still collect old NES,MD and Master System Games as well.

The NES port has many shortcomings compared to the original MSX version, but it was all we had for a very long time. Unlike the DOS version, at least it's winnable...

I'd say console has its moments, but with Steam's 'Big Picture' mode, a controller, and a large TV, it really negates the need aside from exclusives. however, retro consoles will always be fun for modding and nostalgia. playing on an emulator just doesn't have the same ~vibe~

My computer is getting old as fuck but the shitty games they are producing nowadays just don't justify the expense of dropping several grand for a new one. Besides by the time GTA 6 or Elder Scrolls also 6 come out, anything bought now will by out of date anyway. Fuck greedy tech mutherfuckers.

Don't cry, most AAA games are polished sequels or reboots anyway. I recommend looking at indie titles as they offer a wider variety (although not exempt from shovelware and clones), plus hardware requirements and prices are usually low.

Or you can sleep until 2032, then get GTA 6 from a bargain bin and your new computer from a yard sale. The kids playing GTA 12 on their holodecks will make fun of you, but that's how you know you're right!

In keeping up with current events, Hollywood will make a Rambo sequel where America's most famous war veteran fights LGBTIQ2+ polar bears from his rocket-powered wheelchair.

Spoiler alert: a puddle of maple syrup makes him slip and die, a tragic ending entirely ad-libbed by Stallone.

going back to the main topic, I recommend both PC and console. with all the PC handheld and new ones coming out, when you buy PC game, you can play it on the go just like the Nintendo Switch with these PC gaming handheld.

For quickly turning on a game, Switch is great. Some games are just meant to be played by keyboard + mouse, so I'd say it depends. Lucky if you have access to both.

For gamers who may not want to sit in front of a computer screen after working on a computer all day, a console is an excellent option for gaming. For those who love exploring immersive game worlds, PC gaming is typically the better choice
