This is for an art installation.
Basically there are 4 tubes about 30cm in diameter. They will play mp3 tunes.
I need them to play during certain hours eg; from 6am to 8pm then shut up.
If the power shuts down, and starts up again the four pieces will automatically play again.

A pc would be the easiest, however they are too big. 30cm.
Minimac - have worked with this before and it is a headache in coding.
Mp3 players - can't find timer function.
Smart phones - this seems to be an option, yet have not found an app which can start and stop music, then silence. And in case of a power shortage restarts then keeps playing.
I was suggested "Tasker" app. Will look into it,

If you have any solutions i would be grateful.

The neighbors won't be happy this summer. A laptop will solve your problem.

If you had the mp3 players on continuous play (whatever you need for each tube), you could have those on battery sufficient to last quite some time- they draw next to nothing. Let them play for the 3 months non-stop. However, have a mechanical timer turn amplifier(s) on/off as needed. The mp3 players would not need to know that their voices were not being heard.

No programming; low cost.

@dion a laptop maybe to big and expensive X4 (within 30m)

@MegaB ; Thanks for tip. Another solution was to make a tune that is silent for +/- 8 hrs so need to shut off amplifier. Thanks.
