Ads not obtrusive? I cannot even hit the sort button without a damned pop-up ad window. I've got some sprint video pop up every few minutes in the lower left. They all have 'Ad by MacVx ' under them. Even jumping to the last page on this thread greeted me with a wonderful pop-up to efile my taxes. Did this site just go down the crapper?? So glad i donate {insert sarcasm}

EDIT: my bad... i guess the MacVX is some malware crap i got on the macbook... a bit of googling and all fixed. Keep up the great work fst community!!

And in order for me to use the site how I want, I'm required (i.e. forced) to post at least 10 times on the forums. And register to the site. Surely you all aren't too dense to understand that. It's quite simple, really.

Actually unless I'm grossly mistaken the point of this site is to put a couple of bucks in the owner's pocket. Secondarily I'm pretty sure it's a forum unless both history and the English language are lying to me and let me tell you it wouldn't be the third time.

Somewhere down the list and further along the timeline it seems to be transitioning into a NZB type site which going purely by the evidence is a truly horrible idea if only because it seems to be a magnet for soulless,self-serving ,if Rart will allow the word, assholes.

I don't mind paying for a service, it seems that you guys are too ignorant to understand that. I guess that's what happens when you try to talk to moderators and users with 13,000 something posts with little human interaction. As far as "going somewhere else", I already pay for another far superior website (SmackDownonYou), and the barriers to entry are pretty simple. Even you guys could comprehend them.

Please look at NNTP (newsgroups).... it has been there for 20+ years from re-assemeble of post in Base64 and various other really hard stuff to decode to now really piss easy... yes has lost some of the charm since actually using Agent to see posts but still much-much better than torrents. Torrents however agree they have much better legacy cover and 0-day/hour :( You are rather exposed unless you secure VPN tunnel as you are sending don`t forget

I have teenagers at home and if you get 2 words out of them that is a lot so a "HELLO HOW ARE YOU" is a lot

so again I didn't see any suggestions from you to be honest other than "SLITTING MY WRISTS AND WRITING IN BLOOD"

and that said I wouldn't teach my teenagers or I hope you don't teach your children that way to talk to people

I try to stay on newsgroups only there is no sharing your internet so an average avi movie (2-3gigs) I download in about a 1 min
if I am really desperate I will use a torrent and it seems like forever to download

You know I am sort of forced tolerate shorthand like "r u" when teenagers do it as they don't know any better but I still strikes me as wrong when an adult does it.
People argue that debasing the language like that is a convenience thing but sometimes it would be "convenient" to shit in the street and yet you somehow refrain.

I see your point it is a bad habit that spills over from cell phone texting

and with a few teenagers at home texting them and filling up the cell phone pages with full words instead of abbreviations or short forms they tell you are old!!!!

and they text so fast it is the only way to keep up with them


so if it bothers you when I communicate with you I will try not to do it

I wish I could stay 4 months down south but work and kids stop that fast and I got along way to go for retirement

yet looks like over 600 members here and you got less than 10 of them actually posting (you bloody got me hooked now!!!!)

the odd time I am here and I pick up the odd nzb so I needed 3 the other day and it locked me out after 2 so I read a little bit and saw you need 10 post (already had 5 or 6) to bump to 10 downloads so I thaught a few hellos and a few appreciate the work and I be done and on my way back to being a ghost

now have a little more understanding of forum twisted humor and at 26

go figure!!!

but I do have 2 other nzb sites I frequently use and paid for along time (lifetime on one and the other 3years and download close to a terabyte a month )

and they are true hard core nzb sites ,and there, they have many more posters posting there and I am like a ghost there I really never post on either site (except pm moderator if there is a issue)

I see filesharing as nothing more than access to the world's greatest library. Everyone here has access to all of these resources, free of charge, and can do with them as their interests take them.

That said, it does pave the way for interesting interactions iff people take the time to share those experiences, joys, interests, etc. We also get people from all around the globe. This place was once a hotbed of interesting, knowledgeable, funny members. I've had some of my greatest laughs on this site.

64 year old here trying to access new info as I can absorb it. I have played with Usenet a long time with Free Agent and recently Agent. The content sources there have dried up so far as I can tell but this site seems to offer good items and great chat about the technology.

Just for the record, are other free for use file sharing sites around? During registrations, I have gotten smacked by demands for a user name longer than 3 characters even though the user name I give is already 3 characters. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I think you can grab a couple now... once you hit 10 posts then 10 grabs. Or just use the add to zip function and you can grab as many as you like off the bat.

There may also be some time registered limit but not sure about that part as I`ve been here too long to have had that particular block.
