Hi guys, PS Vita plays H264 files. Can anyone tell me what these are please? The same as x264? I am so confused!

A quick search says: "PS Vita supports a wide array of audio files, including: MP3 (MPEG-1/2 Audio Layer 3), MP4 (MPEG-4 AAC), and WAVE (Linear PCM). Video formats supported include: MPEG-4 Simple Profile (AAC) and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High/Main/Baseline Profile (AAC)."

Help?

What could possibly be confusing about this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC) page? :idunno:

This is what I remembered from searching before, and my current search led to the same conclusion. Should be fine.
- h.264 is the codec.
- x264 is the open source program (library) used to encode Bluray or any other video format into the h.264 format, ready for packaging into the desired container (eg. mkv).
