It's been a while since I've looked at any Torrent clients. Was looking at uTorrent and it seems to have turned into an Ad infected program :(. What is the best client these days?

I have used Transmission for a few years. There are so many clients around you just got to try and see what you like best.

qBittorrent seems to be most favourable these days.

Very similar to the early utorrent-client, without the known bloats of today.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I thought that Transmission was only for Macs but it seems that it's also available for Windows. Both qBittorrent and Deluge also look very interesting.

uTorrent 2.2.1 build 25302

Yes uTorrent has been bad since 3.0 which has been like forever. It's easy to go back to 2.2.1 and every tracker I'm on still allows it so your error was updating uTorrent when you didn't need to

qBittorrent.
Fastest, lightest, most flexible and it's open source.
Without any hidden fraud and commercial bullshit(like uTorrent :P ).

Or rtorrent for seedbox.

Hey idiot how often you post every 2sec? I'll ask you again from 26k post you submitted show me 3 actual post that is remotely informative, JUST KIDDING YOU CAN'T. Another year wasted huh? what will NEW YEAR bring for you? More worthless post.

lol that's actually funny, made me laugh in real life as I drink coke and eat McD's breakfast burrito. A I was wondering when someone would comment on that and how did you know they were? lol do tell.

Anyways but yes I never used Ubt in my life. For Linux I used Slackware decade ago and converted to SUSE (which dried from Slackware) on PC/Laptop. For my servers its now all hosted on Linux (CentOS) as I fully migrated from UNIX (Solaris then BSD) to Linux.

If the simple regurgitation of words is your determination of intelligence then you must be confused as to why more parrots don't hold professorships.

I'm going to have to ask you not to post them anymore.

IdiotEyez let me put it in simple context so even you can grasp.

IdiotEyez spoken like a true simpleton
I'm running all over you like white stallion
So please address me as your Lord Pegasus
I got your precious Mrs IdiotEye
On her knee as she is howling
I gave her that D and made her my B

Anyways no, I don't do animal porn lol but however 2 FST members took me on my offer and sent me close to 25GB of them which I found odd but I judge no one. As I can see from upload there is high demand which is why they sent it in first place.

I don't want to hijack this post but can people offer why they like the FTP they use. What makes it easy, has it had any bugs. I can say for Captain FTP before their newest upgrade sometimes it would have trouble throwing files away correctly but they seem to have fixed that bug.

uTorrent 2.2.1 (Build 25302) was the best upon release and it still pretty much is the best. Other clients are equal to, but none are really better than this old horse.

qBittorrent is great also, it's the best client if you are on anything other than Windows (OSX Linux etc) and is basically just uTorrent 2.2.1 remade after uTorrent went all stupid. If for some reason you don't want to use uTorrent 2.2.1, and like most people who use qBittorrent, think this is a godsend after dealing with uTorrent post 3.0 when in reality this is just uTorrent 2.2.1 repackaged.

Deluge is also pretty sweet. However unlike qBittorrent there are actually reasons to use Deluge over uTorrent 2.2.1 if you are on Windows. It has awesome plugins that can do extra stuff that is mostly unneeded, and sacrifices some of the great things that q and u have, for those other great things. To each their own but its worth a try.

Transmission is OK, but no reason to use it on OSX instead of qBittorrent really. And the Windows version is the same, no reason to use it over the 3 above.

Vuze sucks

I use qBittorrent now and could not be happier. I've tried other clients and just not been happy with either the layout or the performance - I think it comes down to the language it uses there.

I vote for qbittorent, mainly because it is opensource, feature rich, and easy to work with, no big downsides

Just tried Vuze and for some reason could never get decent download speeds. Used Tixati, speeds good. But IMHO interface sucks, too gaudy. Now using uTorrent 2.2.1 (Build 25302). Like it. Good download speeds and uncluttered interface.

I'm still happy with uTorrent 1.8.1 It works extremely well, and all private trackers accept it. Why change?
