Just read that Sam Smith's The Writing's on the Wall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jzDnsjYv9A)is the first Bond theme to debut at number 1.

Now I know that until someone with more power than us tells us we can't, people are free to do as they bloody well please but somehow Bond via the Vienna Boys Choir just seems wrong.

Or maybe I just hate Sam Smith's voice because I'm fairly sure that would be a good approximation of what I would sound like if someone were to cut my balls off.

Anyway,thoughts?Unrelated rants?

I would have to agree with you :yup:

A woman would have done it better, and not sounded as stressed to hit the notes...
Yet I think if Justin Timberlake would have sung it... It would have hit number one before it was released to the public:whistling
It is a dramatic song, but he does a great job making it sound Faggy!!, or maybe it is just him:unsure:

I don't know who sam smith is and i haven't heard the song but I think it's shit!!! It's time we had a black Chinese bond in a wheelchair who's one of those transgenders I can't seem to leave my flat without tripping over. Also they should have stopped making bond films right before the very first one because they're all terrible except for that one I saw a couple of years back that had a slow motion gun fight.

I guess everyone is entitled to there opinions (even when they sound retarded:stars:), but saying all the Bond Movies were shit except one?? I would reverse that and say only one bond movie was really shit, well actually two, both starred Timothy Dalton as Bond...
I guess if they were in Anime with subtitles, you would enjoy them more:idunno:

I am guessing you are in a city, come to the country and we just have standard bearded sheap shaggers that live on real ale. Slightly less offensive option

And all bond films better than triple X films so that is a bonus :)

Do you mean Triple XXX films or XXX films ?? That was a loaded statement Gribley..:lol:

On the first one I agree with you (but I didn't mind them, they were entertaining), but the second one :noes:

And I really do like Bond films, really the only films I make the effort to see in a movie theater:yup:

Yes I was aware that may cause someone to suggest I meant "titty muff diver III" type of XXX.... however no it was the Vin Diesel films... or maybe 'VD films' if you like ;)

Nice to have you back Shay

And don't forget Ice Cube in the second:D..

Thanks, but I just took a short time out(nicer to see you here:)) ...I built a new computer, and now using my old one as a server only...
It is the first time trying a AMD CPU, and so far so good. And if you remember I am not a PC gamer, so that is why I didn't go with an Intel chip instead..
What is interesting, I also bought a USB cord to transfer straight from one PC to another, and that really works great as well...It comes with its own software built in and no fuss to transfer everything I need too...

And no!! VD was never my thing LOL!!

I'm only upset because as a more Bond appropriate theme song I was pushing hard for this.

Yeah, cos the one with George Lazenby sure is a cinematic masterpiece.

Actually the myth has surpassed the truth and a lot of "Bond aficionados*" now consider On Her Majesty's Secret Service to be one of the better Bond films and Lazenby to be a more than adequate Bond.
Most of his bad rap coming from being a stop-gap fill in for Connery and not being actually bad.

The film has a good supporting cast, great locations and the first big skiing sequence. Also it's purely instrumental theme (like Lazenby a one off) is widely regarded, along with the obvious Goldfinger as series best.

On the other hand, most view the invisible car in Die Another Day as being the true low point although personally I rank Bond in a clown costume,Jaws in love and the entirety of Man with the Golden Gun to be right up there.

This is pretty close to how I'd actually rank them.
A lot of critics seem to rank Quantum of Solace a lot lower.I didn't care for it when it came out but it was more a let down from Casino Royale and I actually quite like it now.

Yeah it's called Spectre which makes no sense since SPECTRE* is an acronym.

I would say that the producers are just trying for some sly play on words but it's Hollywood so there's as much chance of that as there is of Taylor Swift turning out a song that doesn't make my testicles want to retract up into my abdominal cavity.

And now you know.

From what I remember Lazenby was pretty shitty at acting. Possibly due to being drunk for much of the filming, or so the rumour goes.

Can't speak for the supporting cast and whatnot. I just remember it as being very boring.

This is what I remember when watching OHMSS: I forgot I was watching a Bond movie at some point throughout it. I felt like I left Fleming's universe without realizing when it happened.

Also, thanks Idol. I'm glad you knew me well enough to identify that my ignorance wasn't a farce. So, hail Hydra then.

I don't disagree although it's more a parallel universe where like most of the stuff is familiar but something still feels off.

Personally I think the producers made a big mistake hiring an actor who slightly resembled Sean Connery. It also didn't help that he comes off internally as being rather blank.
Even Roger More who I'm no fan of occasionally seemed to have something percolating beneath the surface.

Anyway just a couple random thoughts from the guys at THRUSH.
