Here's fairly cheap way to shut your computer up. I think I'm gonna try that out. Or does anyone have a better solution or experience in making it less noisy??

German version:

English version: (thx v Virus v / Bender)

there's a plan on how to do it as well. B)

But you sould get the general impression. B)
Both URL's are in German, as you said.
But on the top right of those pages is a little English flag, guess what that does...

Not a good idea imo. The more you restrict the airflow the hotter your PC will run.

that's exactelly the week point of it Nobody1234.

This guy was using a P-II 400 and the temperature didn't raise more that 10° C.
Well, I guess with a P-4 1900 things will look different....
Maybe a bigger fan would do.

Does anybody knows how to measure the CPU temperature and is there some kind of security-system installed to prevent overheating?

there is a prog called "Hardware Doctor". it measures amongst other the cpu temp and gives a warning when it's too hot. Try this (http://www.google.nl/search?q=hardware+doctor&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=nl&lr=) link for more info.

Bah, might as well put a fur coat on my PC. Sure the noise will be gone but there goes my processor. fugetaboutit! The only true, noiseless computer is watercooled!
Temp monitoring? Your motherboard must have this capability, it will be in the bios. Alot of mass-marketed PCs don't have this capability or even a soft bios. Just using software will get you nowhere. duh!

You can kill beeps by going to control panel, sound&audio, sounds - TweakUI is an excellent program though,
And a purple furry computer is the most GAY thing i've ever seen!

Excellent suggestion. Cool little application. I just downloaded & installed the latest version last night. At first I thought it was going to be a hassle to set up (compared to the older version) but just follow the instructions in the help file & it is easy. Im sharing it right now "Motherboard Monitor.zip".

*edit to add: It is FREEWARE
