...only if you're a gay, american or both..., otherwise it's a waste of time. I'd include here Fences and Nocturnal Animals too.
For me, Hacksaw Ridge, Lion or even Arrival worth seeing.

I agree, Logan is my favorite movie of 2017. It didn't really feel like a comic book movie at all.

Everyone keeps raving about Wonder Woman. While I definitely liked it more than the other DC movies (Batman v Superman was not to my taste), the bad guys were a little two dimensional.

By far my absolute favourite movie moment for 2017 was the opening title sequence of Guardians 2 with baby Groot dancing.

For anyone who has previously read and liked the book, It (the movie) is impossible to view objectively.

In my biased opinion, OK movie but many of the best parts are left out or altered for the worst. Also would definitely play better like in the novel and previous adaption, bouncing back and forth in time.

I knew Ol' SK would get ya. ;) Pssst.... Try "Gerald's Game" Netflix or Usenet or "Mr. Mercedes" Audience TV Channel or Usenet (Streaming on Kodi Box best pick...
The Pyramid: "Catch Up TV") ;)

(Yes, I'm still alive.) :alien: ;)

Got the new father / son collaboration "Sleeping Beauties", but have not listened to the audio book yet.

BTW... "Dark Tower" sucked donkey balls.

I think "IT" for stephen King is one of the most intresting movie this year, because it's a remake from some old tv shows that every one have seen and seen, and it's done in a way that you are kickback in your childhood. I took a great pleasure to watch it on a big screen, may be not the movie of the year, but surely a good time ...

I have to say "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" is the best 2017 movie I've seen so far. Going to check out "The Shape of Water" soon. Seems like "Logan" will be worthwhile and even "Wonder Woman".

If Three Billboards wasn't hyped for an award, nobody would see it-- and definitely not be talking about it. Mediocre film at best.

Shape of Water is a dark remake of Splash. Nearly an exact plot line.

I didn't think Three Billboards was the greatest movie ever (just best 2017 movie I saw). That doesn't say much for the movie industry. But I also haven't watched many of the top rated movies for 2017. I normally like to wait for a quality 1080p copy for first viewing (DVDSCR being an exception).

I don't follow hype for movies or TV shows. I like to watch it without any preconceived notion of how good or bad it is. I don't watch commercials, the "news", or pay attention to IMDB's main page, or any other advertising, so I don't see or hear the hype. I have watched many movies/tv shows in the past that got terrible reviews that I ended up liking very much (maybe I have bad taste). But then everybody's view of a good movie/tv show can/will be different. Normally if you have to pump something up a lot, it's usually not that good. I grew up in the 80's watching a lot of bad movies with small budgets. Many of those movies are still better than the crap that is put out today with much higher budgets.

The non-animated Transformers series was entertaining, and the dollars the movies did bring in would refute your review/opinion, but of course MacGyver you are entitled to your views:D
I myself thought they were entertaining, but wouldn't make my top 20 favs ;), The animated series i will take a pass on viewing......

If a movie makes a lot of money, that doesn't make it a good movie. A lot of great movies did terrible at the box office and many bad movies did well. It just goes to show that hype and a big advertising budget can make a crappy movie do well at the box office. Plus, with today's movie goers, movies with guns and big explosions sell tickets.

That is true MacGyver i do agree with you in some cases, myself personally i don't go to the theater unless it is a movie with action or better yet a series/franchise that i like:). Saying that some people rush to the Theater to see a movie on the big screen because they are interested in it, or the hype!! Or regardless who are the actors in it they just like Transformers??. I didn't go to a theater to see any of the Transformers movies, but i did watch them at home and thought they were entertaining. Saying that there are movies that didn't do well and i still viewed them at home and thought also they were entertaining..But if you do watch/hear when a movie is released in the Theater and then watch the sales for the next week?? You see if the masses liked it?? Again i don't really care about that stuff, i was just making a point that most the Transformers movies did really well in the Theaters and video sales, and picked up on Media Streaming companies for people that didn't go to the theaters to see it, and added that i didn't mind them, and seeing the sales week to week the masses didn't either....
You could say that with all the different Batman series and different actors that played Batman?? All did ok but you could see which ones were seen as better by the weekly ticket sales, and sometimes how long it takes for it to be released on Blu-ray Media Streaming.....Star Wars franchise would be the only one i can remember that was held back on video releasing regardless of Theater sales, but now you see the smaller stories of the franchise getting released fast...

PS.. You know saying you are completely right MacGyver , would be correct , but if anyone has a even a slight interests in checking out a movie, because of mass advertising, and kind of brainwashes people to check it out, but it can add people to the franchise that would in some sense never be interested in it?? Or just in luv with the actors in it because it is considered a blockbuster movie, again you can look at the reviews on all sorts of sites as well to make your decision to go see it..
I think you are right and using your analogy....Why do people wait in line for a thousand dollar phone or a new video game console that was just released...

Eg.. I really like the X-Men series, but i did think a few of them sucked the big one!! The second "LOGAN" i didn't really luv, but i watched it.. I was not really into the Star Trek series but i did watch the movies, and did think some were entertaining, and thought the newer remakes with Cris Pine were more entertaining, now if i say that to a real fan?? They may shoot me:fear:, but how were the box office sales (ya i know the times and years need consideration too)??.. And how were the comments/reviews/blogs on that?? Or just because you like the franchise you went to check it out??......
Between 2017-2019 there is a ton of B movies made and out there?? Did you see any that you would recommend?? I really liked say all of the Planet of Apes from Old to new?? But the last one made, i didn't think it was the best, but i still watched it.....

Most of the movies I watch were made from 1950-2000. I've seen plenty of movies from 2001-Present, but not many made an impression (good one anyways). My memory is terrible, so I forget most of the stuff I watch. I need to watch something at least five times for it to stick. I'll try coming up with a few movies that I have watched recently that I thought were good (and made the last couple of years).

I watched a lot of movies during the 80's and 90's on cable (HBO, Movie Channel, Showtime, and Cinemax). Back when black-boxes were available. I've seen so many B-movies over the years. USA's "Up All Night" was great back in the day. Gilbert Gottfried and Rhonda Shear hosted it and they showed tons of cheesy movies. Good times.

I'm not a huge fan of subtitles either (especially now that my eyesight for distance sucks).
