There's still plenty of sites out there still running:

RARBG, Torrentz, KAT, Zooqle, TPB, Demonoid.

I'm sure there are improved clones amidst. Bitsnoop gave their data to Zooqle and it looks like they're doing good things. If anyone wants to suggest sites that don't have that annoying popup every time you mouse click, and then use the mouse as to scroll through the page, (I'm looking at you Demonoid/KAT), please go ahead.

There's is also private sites. Yes, the file sharing scene is taking a hit on all platforms but it doesn't mean the likes of BitTorrent or Usenet will collapse. Look at TPB's history dear god, 14 years later and it's still going.

Who is responsible for the popups that take over my screen, it it the proxy sites of is it the torrent sites, i have to access the torrent sites by finding a proxy link, i dont have a vpn. So can you suggest a relieable way of getting proxy links that are safe to use. I access Rarbg through the same proxy link and some days i get crazy pop ups and some days its fine. Any suggestions.

I got one of those letters from your ISP telling me I'm possibility in big trouble after downloading something off RARBG. You are wise to always use a proxy and probably also to never download porn.

Do you think they are just trying to scare you or do you think they are serious? Surely downloading a torrent file is not illegal. Why is porn different from other pirate material?

Probably both. In the latter case it's understandable, as few advertisers are willing to work with pirate sites. It's the same reason TPB has so many porn ads.

If your provider blocks RARBG, either deal with the pop-ups or shell out some dough for a private proxy/VPN (or rent a server and make your own, it's cheaper and not as hard as it sounds).

Always use a condom when downloading from public trackers :eyebrows:

Perhaps it is time for people still using public trackers to start thinking about moving to private trackers...or spending $$$ to get a vpn as so many people have said.

Well, if you're not willing to do a little research before you spend your money...

Anyway, Private Internet Access is a good pick, so you could just go for that.

I know what i said sounds a bit lazy but that article is a bit technical for me. Thanks for the recommendation, i did a little research and i read that article regarding PIA, it sounds fine to me, i have subscribed to the monthly account for now, if it proves to be reliable then ill sign up for the yearly contract. Many thanks ;)

Note that I can no longer recommend PIA after the recent Kape buyout.
