If they informed you of the work being done before starting it and that you'd have no water supply during that work then they don't have to pay you a penny :(
If they'd just shut the water off without warning though, then you could have claimed something back from them.
I hope they get it back on for you soon though dude :)

Hmm - this sounds like a case for "WaterMainsMan"!
Step 1: Walk casually around the abode looking for suspicious water taps.
Step 2: Creep up towards them and slowly turn the handles clockwise untill you cant turn anymore.
Step 3: Repeat this cunning trick on all the taps.
Step 4: Step back and admire your cunningness <--------i hope i spelled that right
Peace

Why do you think porn was created!? :P ;)
Dude, seriously, you really should give it alot of thought about wether she's worth all the shit she's putting you through :( I've been there and it really isn't worth putting up with it as it just drives you insane and end's up in missery :(
I'm starting to feel alot better in myself since splitting up from my ex and it's a feeling i'd virtualy forgotten!!
In the end, the ball's in your court and only your's though as it's down to what you want and wether she's worth waiting for!

If you know where the main valve is then just turn it clockwise until it stops. You can check to see if it's off by turning on a tap at your sink. If no water comes out then it's off.
To turn it back on just turn the valve counterclockwise until it stops. If the water flows then it's on.
Same instuctions apply for your GF. <_<

lol My meaning was quite simple really, if a little cryptic ;)
All I was saying is that I want my next GF to be one that I have no problem getting between the sheets and when the relationship finishes (if it finishes) then it's easy to get over her :) Hence "Easy come easy go" :P
