Spybot S&d Updates

i cant seem to get an update from spybot
i can connect, it shows an update available, but it wont get it (not responding)
cleared the hosts file and tried again, no dice
no advanced rules set set in sygate, i'm pretty sure my ie settings are ok (default)
what else do i need to try? :blink:
may have to reinstall, but would like to know if any1 else had this prob 1st...

I have the exact same problem. When you download updates, it never dl's and the program freezes. Two things that I'm going to try.

1. Reinstall
2. Uninstall Adaware

http://security.kolla.de/news.php?lang=en on that page you can also download the latest updates manually.
In the faq it states that if you can't download updates through the programm, renew the site you want to download from. i.e. if you click updates in Spybot it'll search for updates. If there are any you can hit the download buton but before you do theth choose the server you want to download the update, It is in the button beside the wonload button. Click the arrow and choose another server instead of the standard.

sorry to start a thread then abandon it, forgot about havin to finish up some

(cant remember the server it tried to connect to, maybe busyman could be havin the same prob :unsure: )
cause i dont have ad-aware installed right now, so thats probably not it
will reply with results.....

yep, changed the server and got the update
had to use FXClips(USA)
servers for UniDO(Europe) and SpybotSD.de(Europe) werent workin
didnt try the others
