Hello and Happy New Year everyone!
Newsflash Plus 4.2.0 has been released for both Win64 and Linux64.
The software is now nearly 13 years in the making and it just keeps getting better! :cool:
For those who don''t know it from before it's a classic "desktop style" newsreader that is capable of handling headers and NZB files and it has built-in support for RSS and usenet searches against any site running Newznab. This version has a lot improved header engine for those are into this "classic behaviour". I recently spent considerable time optimizing the engine and the data usage on disk. It can now handle even the larges groups with billions of articles (yeah, you read that right.) How many other clients can do that? :whistling
Otherwise you can expect all the standard bells and whistles such as:
- nzb file support, scanning, saving load
- automatic par2 repair
- automatic rar, zip, 7z extract
- TCP, SSL, multiple accounts, connections, fill server
- header support, even for massive groups with billions of articles, support for header compression
- newznab support including RSS streams, searching
- file and download history, duplicate checking, free space checking
- OMDB integration (you can view movie and TV series details easily in a pop-up window, requires OMDBapi account however)
- support for 3rd party applications and command that you can script / run when something happens
The software is ad supported on Windows (Linux version is ad-free!), but don't be scared. There's absolutely nothing suspicious about this software. If you don't like the ads you can donate (any amount will do) to register your copy and receive a private license key that will remove the ads.
