Today when I went to open a file with my Windows Media Player it keeps saying that it has an error and needs to close. This happens whenever I try to open a video or audio file. I thought that I might have downloaded a corrupt file so I tried opening a file that was working and the same thing happened.

Since there is no way that I saw to uninstall (that I saw) I went to Microsoft's website and re-downloaded the program to re-install and now I'm getting this little messagehttp://www.chinkii.com/uploads/album/misc/Error%20message%201.JPG
I know that I have plenty of RAM 640 and I have an 80 gig HD so I have plenty of space.

I also have tried using system restore and I restore the computer to yesterday when everything was working fine and that didn't work either. This just started today out of the blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download the KLite Codec Pack (http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm) use the included BS Player ;)

Try Media Center 9.1. It has all the features of WMP and then some. MC 9.1 (http://www.jriver.com/mediacenter)

Everything is working now. I did an OS repair and fixed whatever the hell was wrong with this thing and it worked like a charm. Thanks to MM for the advice.

Simple fix, just get rid of that WMP 9 $#!t, and get WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com).

On my friend comp he had the old version of WMP and all the codec, but avi's didn't play correctly. He downloaded WMP9 and it fixed it. Just a better player. Thos BS is the best.

Didn't know he had a CD, I just watch Conan, and comedy central allot, so I see the insult dog all the time.

Pooping humor, dog humping and insult jokes, now that's comedy.
