We have this thread that discusses what the "fastest" Internet speeds are:

https://filesharingtalk.com/threads/451281-What-is-the-fastest-internet-speed

I was just wondering what speeds people actually have? Me? I just upgraded from 50 to 400 mbs. I don't know what I will do with it but I have it ...

Mine was upgraded twice this year, from 10/1 Mbps to 30/3 to recently 50/6.

I believe I'm at 75/6 right now. C0mcast likes to upgrade speeds without notice, then increase your bill without notice. They do notify customers with a note on the paper bill. Not very useful if you have automatic bill pay set up. Not like we can do anything about it.

Ya you can.... Call and complain and play dumb, that should be easy buddy, and ask for "Retention"... You are right they only have to send out a notice they are increasing the prices, it is your responsibility, the same when they give you promotional pricing, if you check your bill on paper or online it will tell you the expiry date, but they don't send you a notice, they just bump the price and you have to call to get a new promotion if you want. I do it for my Mother-Inlaw in Florida with Xfinity....

As I've told you many times, where I live they don't give a fuck. C0mcast is the only game in town. They give you the runaround and say there's nothing they can do.

Yeah, it sucks if you're a Comcast cable town, and AT&T isn't even trying to deliver decent speeds with its' internet offerings.

The Comcast line from my house to the "pole" in an alley behind my back yard, has been lying on the ground across my neighbor's back yard and mine, since a cross-member fell off the pole during an ice storm. That was in February - 2016! Numerous calls resulted in "we'll have someone out this week" promises, and nothing ever done. And of course there's no regulation of these jerks.

If you think comcast is bad you should try mediacom, it has to be the worst cable company to be stuck with on earth. As said above, its the "only game in town" where I live. I thought monopolies were illegal, but I guess when the cable company pays off your town with a $20,000 "licensing fee", its ok.

It's the federal regulators that control these things. Lobbyists pay off politicians to create these monopolies and it's been like this forever in the good old USA. A town doesn't have much choice. Only one cable company can service it. The same as telephone, electric, gas, and water.

I just got an email recently from C0mcrap that they increased my Internet service from 60Mbps to 100Mbps. I can expect my bill to increase shortly also.

Funny thing is, when I tested my Internet speed during the last year or so I would get 75/6. Now I'm getting 120/6. They really don't want their residential customers doing any uploading. You need a business subscription to get fast upload speeds. Problem is residential addresses can't business service without proof of a business operating at address. Their infrastructure can't handle the demand if everyone had it (especially in my region).

Mediacom plan I have is 200/30 when it works, but the tv and internet here are subject to frequent outages they are not happy to give credit for. I'm pretty sure mediacom is the worst ISP on earth, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes. Did I mention they also like to raise the bill steadily every month?

You must have never used Telecentro in the Greater Buenos Aires area :) CGNAT and outages every other day. And its only competition before FiOS rolled out this year was a much slower ADSL.
