I love listening to music with headphones. Right now I have a pair of Sony MDR-7506. They are old and battered, having been dropped, thrown, stepped on, and slammed around in my bag.

I would like to get a new pair and I am looking for some recommendations in the $150-200 USD range.

Not expensive taste, really. I just want something nice.

I met a guy once who had a $5000 pair of custom made headphones, with his own custom made, portable pre amp. Thats expensive taste.

B) right now i've got the Sony MDR-V300 headphones

maybe my head is really screwed up, but i find that if i put them on backwards (right phone on left and vice versa) it feels more comfortable and has the same quality music.

:) A good Pair of Headphones are Expensive but the Sound you get from them makes it all worth it.$150 - $200 is a good Range.I would probably not go over $100 but that is me.

:D Good Topic dingoBaby :D

:( I will not say what I have at the moment. :(

dingo I think you should go with one of the HD580s they are virtually identical to the 600s and can be found used for around 90-100 bucks + a medium priced solid state amp like a META42 or PiMeta for about 150 and you got some great sound

I love my headphones, I use them with my CD player and PC. I find it a lot better playing games or listining to MP3's with my headphones, I never use my PC without them. I really like the headphones that go behind your neck, not the ones that mess up your hair, or the really huge ones, just plain ol regular behind-the-neck headphones.

My current headphones:

I have these cordless headphones, so that if I step away from my PC, the whole machine doesn't follow me

Its a Philips FM Cordless Stereo Headphone SBC HOC. I can't remember what I Payed for it, something like 40 - 50 Euro.

Its battery operated, now I regret I didn't buy a rechargeable one...
But i'm still happy with these :)

I don't wear them often, usually when I wanna listen to loud music late at night, have to think of the neighbors :D

Also it is so real as I stated before I actually turned around because I though an employe was talking to me!!! Those headphones are AWESOME! They also have a 150 dollar pair which I showed you. I got Sennheiser HD 250 Linear II
I like the low frequencies a lot.
Other than that i think they getting used and old,
been steppin on the cable while playing the guitar etc.

Some links,´:

PDF (http://buy.sennheiserusa.com/ASP/Sennheiser/pdf/hd250.pdf) , Review (http://www.epinions.com/Sennheiser_HD_250_Linear_II_Headphones_Headphones) , another Review (http://ecoustics.consumerreview.com/pscAudioReview/Headphones/Headphones/PRD_126380_2750crx.aspx)

..the price is about 150 - 170$ i guess. (didnt read the reviews, i know these are Ok for me) :P

If i had to get new ones, i'd check what ppl in the biz uses, in studios etc,
and i would read a lot of reviews. ;)

sennheiser hd250 mk2 - I love em, I mean I really really love them :music1:

and I have sennheiser hd202 for anyone else in the house that wants to use headphones, the 250s are MINE

and just for good measure i have sennheiser ehsomething  open backed for my mini disc.

I like sennheiser a lot

EDIT: and hell yeah the 250s were kinda pricey, but I just go without shoes for a while, but you can pick up hd202s for 25 quid or so, prolly less and they're real good. I suppose it depends how much time your gonna spend in them for how much you wanna pay for em ;)

I'm not sure if you're gonna use theese headphones for just listening to music, or if you are also making your own music.... If music is a important thing in your life and you want the best out of your headphones, you'll have to go somewhere btw 80-150 $

My current headphones is AKG K44 costed me about 75$ and is almost good enough for my needs...
