Not sure this topic has been discussssed before? - Why would a Tracker put in all the Time & Effort
to promote their site, if NOT for "begging donations & advertisements [ seedboxes and etc ] - To line their pockets"?

- I know many Trackers that - Do not beg & promotr constant remainder to Donate as a VIP - { Have to admit, VIP members do have some " privileges " }

While Server cost is rising and other problems related to the Tracker, like maintennance is constant. - So, what is the motivation for keeping up a Tracker?

They didn't get the memo explaining how being staff on a torrent tracker doesn't make you cool.

Anyway, I thought that pretty much, is a Supply and Demand factor in most things.
It looks like Torrenting is still pretty much alive..

Everyone wanted a piece of the streaming pie, and it's coming back to bite their asses now ;) Few people are going to pay for four or five services just to have the ability to (potentially) watch everything.

I mean, you don't reaally need to pay for every service :lol: Imo torrenting will never die, as there will be always people who will find ways to make it possible. Especially with some vpn providers that are helping to access restricted pages, hide traffic from ISP and actually allow torrenting. For example even surfshark (a vpn provider) has released a service that allows you to bypass restricted pages. Now I can access a lot of pages that are banned here (porn sites, a ton of youtube content, and some streaming services). The service is free, so you can check it here https://surfshark.com/trust-dns

They make some fairly big promises. While DNS over HTTPS or TLS is certainly a step forward from the regular protocol, providing encryption and authentication, your provider can still know where you're going based on the Host header or SNI string (although not what you're doing in the latter case), and block traffic if they want to.

The best way to get through censorship is using Tor Browser. Easy to use for both average Joes and advanced users alike, and also protects you from fingerprinting.

I know no one cares, but I took the time to check this out since writing my previous reply. It's a standard-compliant DoH and DoT implementation, so you can use the client of your choice on any platform. Details follow.

https://surfshark.com/trust-dns

DoH, DoT, no logs, anycast routing with servers in at least the USA, Netherlands, Germany and Singapore (verified via ping and TCP traceroute test).
Only available as an Android app, but I installed it inside a VM and nothing differs from a standard implementation. DoH on https://dns.surfshark.com/dns-query, DoT on dns.surfshark.com:853.

I think this is one of those morally complex cases where a lie is kinder than the truth.:mellow:

Btw, anon, do they celebrate Christmas in your country and is it basically the same as here except instead of gift giving yours involves human sacrifice?

Just a rumour.
