3959 files. It was around 10,000 before I stopped sharing my digital music. Don't want any trouble, can't afford any. But, I don't feel guilty because I rarely download music; I use K-Lite mostly for games, programs, movies, and TV shows, which I am sharing...my 4 upload slots are never empty. :D Anyway the 3959 files I have, come out to about 78GB. I totalled that with Windows Explorer though, not with Kazaa Lite-I don't know how to do it that way(if possible).

I can't understand leeches. Why don't you realise that even sharing just 1 file would be better than sharing nothing at all? Or do you not use K-Lite at all?

I don't think that you should count sharing by files, In my opinion you should count sharing by the amount of the GBs you're sharing.

I'm sharing 20 Gbs of movies, and 1 GB of game 1/2 Gb os mp3s.

I'm sitting at 2328 files with a total of 4GB - mainly images, ATi and nVidia drivers, Emulators, some Mp3 files and some other software like AVG and Virtual Dub...

I have currently 5031 files / 140 gig available for upload - I could share much more but as I can only get a 56k connection I limit the file size to sub 300meg.
I have 3 upload slots available and they are always active - I leave my system on 24/7 to allow plenty of access time.

I have noticed that the number of users online has halved over the last year. I am concerned at this as I feel this is a good system.

I like P2P it beats the crap out of Warez sites and all the bullshit that goes with them.

Currently the average seems to be about 182 files / 1.5 Gig per user online, lets see if we can lift this a little.

please dont do that, know why ? because kazaa lite has a feature for its users to disable people from getting a list of their shared files (protection against the riaa)

  :strongsad: If there is one thing I don't like about K-Lite, this has to be it. You are contributing to the downfall of this network. How many times do I have to say it, even sharing just one file is better than nothing at all.
No wonder many of the proper filesharers are moving all their files to other networks, where everybody has to share nicely.
And then you leeches will have nothing left at all. Think about it. ggrrrrrr

Hello!

I share 4000 files with a total size of 40GB.

I share about 50% music and 40% Movies and also 10% apps(counted by Gigs). I hate clips so only full movies of all sorts including porn ones.

No books or documents!

sharing would probably best be meassured with the amount of gig's you upload a day!? Cause that's what you share.
My band with usage in December 2003, uploaded 80 gig dl 105 gig.

How many files i'm offering to share? well that depends on the tool i use.
KLite about 1.000 almost all movies
Soulseek +50.000 all mp3's
Bittorrent, just the ones i dl or ul so merely not more then 4-6 at the same time

atm hardly use any other progs... B)

Hello!

I upload about 8 Gigs per day so it means about 240Gigs per month give or take a few.

How much ! download I do not know it varies greatly from month to month!.

By the way anyone know a practical software that monitors bandwidth usage so that I can see more precisely how much data I upload and download every day and month?

Hello!

Thank you for the Tip!

Regarding my bandwidth I have 2.5Mbit/s upload I have assigned 100% and 10 uploas slots they are always taken.

Actually I am not supposed to have more then 0.768Mbit/s Upload speed and 2.5Mbit/s download speed. But my old ADSLmodem died as the result of a thunder strike and a new one was sent to me(I am renting it a s apart of my subscription it is a special modem not available in stores). There is 2 ways of limiting bandwidth on ADSL depending on the type of DSl service that are beeing used. One in which the bandwidth is regulated in the DSLAMS config files and one in which the modems at home is programmed by the ISP. I have the later option. At the bottom of my modem there is a special port designed for that purpose. This new modem I got resulted in much higher upload speeds then my old modem. The description for the service that I have is specified at 2.5Mbit/s Download and 768Kbit/s upload speed. So this means that I am getting much better bandwidht then I pay for. My best guess is that this new modem is wrongly programmed and someone set the same speed for both Upload and Download. I also live only 300 yards from the Phonestation and I guess that helps to!. Normaly ADSL only gives a maximum of 1Mbit/s upload. I stronlgy suspect that my ISP are experimenting with VDSL as I am getting that speed.

But anyhow I stay connected 17/7 and 10 people can download at the same time. I almost never have any availbale uploadslots so I guess my files are popular. The most popular ones are the Porn during night time. It is eating bandwidth and I am currently in the process of removing some of those files so that bandwidth becomes available for other types of files aswell.

Hello!

Do you mean per day or per month?

You must ave a low available bandwidth then if so you should not share more then about 200 files. As it is now people are probably quing for a very long time before connecting to you. Almost 2000 files and only 10Gigs upload per month thats a bad ratio!. But maybe you means that the files are 10 Gigs in size and not the amount of data transfered?

Windows NT and Windows XP won't run on a 386, 486, pentium, or pentium two.

And, I absolutely refuse to use Windows XP. Privacy concerns ya know. I don't like the fact of having to let Microsoft know every time I update my hardware, it's none of their damn business.

Windows 2000 gives me all the use that XP did (I ran it long enough to find out how crappy it really is), without any invasion of privacy, and with less crashing.

As for the rest, I can't help it if I like old operating systems. :)
I still think MS-DOS 6.22 with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 was one of the most stable Operating systems of all time. :) :)

I'm even tempted to set up a dual boot between WFWG 3.11 (with DOS 6.22) and Win2k.

I have 8960 files shared as of now. Most of em are mp3 and I am currently compressing my vids and converting them to divx so they will be smaller than their current size. (ex: mpg to divx) As far as size, I am sharing 29.67 GB. I am sharing on Dc++ and Kazaa Lite Resurection. As far as emule, sharaza, and Overnet go, I only get on them around once a week- 1 & 1/2. For some reason they don't always see my shares. Emule only sees 1899.

Where can I find a free dvd ripping program that converts them to divx without showing all the files and stuff? Ex: Convert e:/waterworld (DVD Drive) to c:/waterworldDivx.avi or whatever format) Does anyone have any links of info? PM me if you like or message me.

13.27 GB in 3103 files, mostly MP3s, 3D Models and textures, and progs. I have more on CD but limited HD space (60GB total) of which I have to use most for progs and work. BTW I (ahem) don't intentionally share copyrighted material... but accidents can happen, users can get careless, and as the RIAA is so fond of saying, fileshare progs are a *dangerous security hazard*, and kazaa is supposedly nearly impossible to completely get rid of, so I can't always guarantee that some copyrighted files won't be compromised by such terrible malware! ;) (Oops, I accidentally shared my whole music folder instead of the subfolder that contains my own music... damn!) :frusty:

But I only allow 5 uploads at a time, due to if I make it like 500 those 500 uploads will come up instantly.
How many physical drives do you have? What's your total storage space?

Just getting better and better. I've got a question: How many computers d'you have ? How many hard drives ? And how fast a T3 is, both theory and practise ?

T3 in theory is 44Mbps (or 45Mbps in some areas)

1 computer (SuSE Pro 9.0)
2.2GB SCSI RAID array
And my connection is from the university. Since it's shared, I get 500K at most.

I'm sharing all this with Nicotine.
