so those of u who have the card, how do they perform. i was thinking of gettign a fx5200 but i wanted to keep the card for at least a year or so. the fx5200 look like it have trouble running ut2k3 on high setting right now so.... i know it has dx 9.0 support but what good is it getting a card w/ dx9 support but not powerful to run the features of dx9

the are bascically the same price. so should i go w/ ti4200 or radeon 9600se

Those 2 cards are not in the same category. The Ti4200 is not a 'dx9 support' card. The Radeon 9600 is better.

yea but this is the "se" version so i though it wouldnt perform as well as the reg. card.

btw, vb123 how does ur fx5200 do in game?

I know my crappy G4 MX 128MB card does fine on halo, and UT2k3, so anything above that, such as either of those cards would run it fine.

But I would go with the 9600 over the 4400 though.

okay ty, if u put it that way...i might go w/ fx5200 as its $50 cheaper lol

The TI might not be an dx9 card, but i thought its faster then the 9600se.

I don't have a fx5200. I have the Ti4200. Works fine for me. :)

dx9 is the thing holding me back from the ti4200. i want to have this for at least a year and most enw game are dx9.0 but then agiain. if im gonna get a 9600se and its not powerful enough to handle the new dx feature then its kinda useless

dude go to ATI.com and look at the comparison chart for the stuff and see what it is rated at, as far as pipelines etc, (pipelines should be in the 4 range...) the 9600 has a pretty good set of stats to go with it...

to be honest....i really dont give a crap about teh technology in the card as i dont know hwat they mean. :D i just want to know which one of the 2 card would last me longer. i would choose the 9600 if it wernt for the "se". becuz on the benchmark ive seen, the diff. between the reg. 9000, 9000pro, 9000se were huge. w/ the se coming last ;) so thats y im a little concern bout getting the "se" version

so would i be able to play almost all the new games w/ the 9600se at 1024x768 at med-high setting?
