Windows Xp Failed Installation

When trying to install Windows XP Professional this error message comes up and will not continue the installation: INSTALLATION FAILED D:\1386\ASMS.
ERROR MESSAGE: The parameter is incorrect

where did you get this copy from? have you used this copy before?

scratched cd? or perhaps a bad copy

download and install isobuster, run it, put xp disc in cdrom, (cancel setup ;) ). now in isobuster it should have detected the cd, right click and select the option "check to see if all files are readable". it will do exactly as it says ;) you will know for definate if this disc is shagged or not ;) if its scratched try working them out with brasso or duraglit or another type of very mild metal polish :D
