Season 1 is available in this very place ;) DrunkenSlug has season 2. I would have mirrored the NZBs for you, but I only have 5 grabs a day there and they have no season packs.

Looks like season 2 was never released in SD... Only version I can find is from ION10 and I don't see them in the newsgroups (and all the links on file hosts appear dead).

Geek has the 720p version of season2 as well.

And i appreciate and respect your views and opinions...

But i can tell you by looking at the downloads on many sites, there is a few people that disagree with you, especially seeing that pretty much anything out there being the latest to the most sought after is still encoded in AVI format...

Again just sayin buddy:happy:

Truth, my first go to is MKV sd's, then AVI's and then MP4's, when it comes to tv shows...

720P MKV's or better for Movies:D

I do find that MP4's sound encodes are shit!!!...

PS. And believe me i see you and the crew are always doing a great job here in the NZB section, i hope everyone appreciates that:happy:

So if I put XviD video and MP3 audio inside an MKV container, it would be your first choice :stuart:

Well if you put it that way yes:lol:

I figured it would be you that figured out that mystery LOL!!!!

Better if you put MP3 audio instead of AAC in a MP4 container, you got me again:)

Truth one of my Amps doesn't love AAC format, and really other than compression and a actual player or program to play any of these formats, what is the difference in quality?? Again we are talking about SD versions not HD......

AAC offers the same quality as MP3 but requires a lower bitrate to achieve it. It also has compression improvements that make file sizes smaller even at the same bitrate, and a few other things that aren't very relevant to the end user.

I'm surprised about the thing with your amplifier, did you make sure your player and system are pumping bit-perfect audio? (No resampling, equalizing or volume control)

[QUOTE=shaina;3825869] I'm surprised about the thing with your amplifier, did you make sure your player and system are pumping bit-perfect audio? (No resampling, equalizing or volume control)

That would be correct i don't like resampling on anything, so if the Amplifier doesn't have that option, it converts to a default sound...

And the truth, i find sometimes because of the decoding the voice goes out of sync:angry:

MY other 2 amps automatically pick up the AAC encode and play properly.....

I use UMS (Universal Media Server), to internal stream in the house, i find it cleaner and more pure then using Plex when it comes to the decoding. The only problem is doesn't have fancy splash screens or internet features, so you have to decide if you want fancy screens or better sound and picture quality broadcasting...

And also i prefer to have a program that is internal not relying on the internet?? And before Cabby makes a comment i know you don't need to be connected to the internet for Plex to work:D. but what would be the reason to use Plex over UMS if you can't take advantage of the fancy features:idunno:..

Again i have been fiddling with a few different streaming programs, but when you go through the list of true raw sound and video features, UMS blows them all away!!!...

Then of course you need the equipment to really utilize them. Right now i am too cheap to upgrade;)...

The fancy features kick in as you add content to your library, not when you watch that content. Once you download the descriptions, cover art and whatever other metadata is available you don't need to be connected to the net for PLEX to run and stream to you local TVs. And if you are not, you still have the same sparkly interface as you would if you were.

Ah that is true and false Cabby....

Yes the splash screens and Gifs will be there, but the info etc on say tv shows and or movies will not, it only downloads the links for that stuff, or your hard drive would be loaded with crap you may not want or just waste space, if you know what i mean.....

Again i am not knocking Plex in any way, just my experience, and really Plex is designed to have people join have an account and use the internet base program that is really easy to use and set up. Just join Netflix or Amazon or Hulu and you see the same screens, and really the others that may be technically better when it comes to raw encoding are either tough to set up or not user friendly either....

Really Cabby , i am saying you are mostly right and in all honesty, most people don't give two shits:), there is really only the few that care about the quality of sound and video buddy, most people just want ease of use...Without sounding gay , i go both ways:bag:

If that was true then why does it retain the data that I manually edit/type into PLEX? And do you really think I am concerned about adding a couple of KB for a picture and some text if I store 8 GB worth of data for the movie itself on a NAS with 67 TB storage these days...? :)

Wait a minute.. Are you saying that the info and descriptions and links of other movies that the actors are in can be saved on your PC/Server without an internet connection?? And really do you sign out of Plex all the time and run it without the internet yourself?? and not your server but the TV's etc that are also connected to the internet??
On my setup, i don't need an internet connection just a router to run a network right??

Can you explain how you did that?? It didn't work for me?? And i am thinking with trademark and copyright laws?? That Plex pays for big time, hens the reason why you have to have an account and register all of the products you are using it on?? But If that can be done and not take up a ton of space, that is amazing if you can help me out on that...

Would be much appreciated buddy.., especially if we are on the same page with the info saving and the links that can be added on your server that if the same actors are in multiple movies and it links without the internet connection, fuck ya i am in and would love to know how to do it!!!

PS.. You know i am laughing inside you talking about 67 TB which is only really just a little more than half of the storage actually, and i can say without a doubt that it is almost full with you LOL!!!

What would you call that?? Something like a downloading whore or better hoarder :lol:!!!!

Again appreciate your help on saving all of that stuff, and again i would only want that on some say actors or movies/tv shows....

Thanks

You will need an internet connection when you add stuff to your library and pull in the metadata (plot summaries, actor/director information, general movie information, posters, etc). At that point you can disconnect your router from the internet and just run a wifi (or cabled) network inside your house; as long as both your Plex server and your Plex player are on the same network, yes, your player will be able to display all the movie data/pictures/whatever that you previously downloaded. There is a folder deep in the bowels of the Plex setup where it is all stored.

The only reason why you need to be connected to the internet, aside from pulling metadata, is if you want to watch content on a player that is *not* on your local network (or if one of your friends wants to connect to your server). That connection is needed so that the Plex central computer knows how to hook up the server and player. I believe at that point the player will connect directly to your server, and I don't think that any traffic is routed through the Plex hub on the 'net. Again, if all you want to do is stream locally inside your house you can just pull the cable from the router.

Trademark and copyrights don't matter -- Plex pulls it data from TVDB and TMDB which are public websites and have either licensed whatever data they collected, or it's in the public domain anyway (I mean, how do you trademark or copyright the date when a movie came out at the box office?). I am sure they pay for the privilege to use their APIs and to have access to that centralized data rather than aggregating it themselves, but how much could that possibly cost? Probably a whole lot less than what you think. The linking of different movies by actor is done by Plex ("Other movies with..."); there really is nothing you need to do about it.

And yes, I just upgraded four 6TB drives in my NAS to 16TB, so that bought me an additional 30 TB in storage space. That should last for a while. Proud data hoarder since 1983. :)

You can swap "delete" for "archive" if you want, and indeed I have kept copies of a (very) few movies and series I found exceptionally good. My point was that I find stuff like Plex and Kodi too mind-boggling and complicated. Of course, chances are they have merit for others who are more organized than me.

You would perhaps teach Cabby Jr. a valuable lesson. My parents didn't have infinite money and space for VHS tapes, damnit

From a user's perspective, Plex is just as "complicated" as Netflix. Probably a little less so, given that the library/content may be more limited. Depending on how the library is structured.

From an administrator's perspective, it really isn't at all. Set it up once, define your library folders, dump whatever you download into those folders. Create collections if you want to group content (like all the Harry Potter movies, etc). Invite others to connect to your server, if you are so inclined. Nothing else to configure/connect/whatever. Plex really does the rest for you, from pulling in the metadata to managing your IPs when connecting with outside users.

Sometimes you are punishing yourself with these "valuable lessons". Hours of crying and whining are not worth it. Nevermind having to listen to the kid do the same. ;)
