:o you could take that two ways, one of them "oh shit!" and the other " man thats nice of them to warn me that ive been investigated, it gives me time to cover my tracks!" :D seriously... that looks like you have a pretty decent isp to me, granted it's not good news, but at least they seem to be on your side ;)

@boyzeee, there haven't been any real consequences on getting busted for sharing movie files so this is standard stuff (who knows the copyright owners etc may be waiting to see what happens with the riaa thing- speakign just about the u.s. coz i don't know about the laws in other countries)

@james_bond_rulez- did they give you any idea of the time of infraction?

james_bond_rulez

Since your ISP mointors and can see everything your doing do you think it is wise to be posting this on a P2P FORUM? And asking questions about how to get a proxy for BT if you keep going like this you might be kicked off the ISP.

yes they could but if i found out about it i'll make sure i sue the shit out of them.

i can post whatever without worrying, even if i admitted to sharing file on this forum, it would not be evidence enough to cut my internet.

That sucks,I am on Halifax eastlink and I have downloaded at least 200 gigs in the last 2-3 months and I have yet to get any kind of warning about that kind of stuff.
When I called for tech support one day I told the tech guy that I was considering changing ISP's and his explanation as to why I shouldn't was"our service is that much faster than Mpowered that if you want to download a movie to watch tonite you can start it this afternoon and have it for the night, whereas if you were on Mpowered you would have to start the day before just to have it when you want it."
So basically I don't think they have too much problem with file sharing.

Let me something - I use for DIalUP a tool where you can DIalIn
to several services ...

If you are registered at oyur ISP - the worst thing that might happen
is they ban your account - but I think and am quite sure that in US
there is as well many ISPs which allow also unregistered users to DIalIn ;)
by paying per minute?

;) One long time ago my OLD ISP banned me cause I sent to someone
several mails, on other words spam, but that is long ago... it was not really spam...

internet.news u r not really making sense....

but let me be very clear about something: download/upload illegal files at your own risk!!! isps have the right to deny you internet service if you get caught. If you do the crime, you do the time

You could look at this site. They claim to work with any p2p (including BT). Here is a copy of email I sent them.

Thanks for you interest. We do support Bittorrent. In fact we support
all p2p. Niether us nor any of our customers has found a p2p that does
not work with AnonX.

If you are a serious p2p user AnonX is for you. We do not limit
bandwidth.

i dunno, usually with a torrent i just open it and leave it be

i could be downloading or seeding i dunno <_<

randm01
11-30-2003, 08:35 PM
seeding is when you start the file for ppl to dload....not for you to dload the file and eventually leave it once its completed for ppl to dload from you...
going by your reply you were just a leech when you got warned...so looks like bt is just as vulnerable as kazaa......if its all true...ive had the same kind of warning from sharing files on kazaa...it shocks you but its unlikely the isp will follow thru with it at this stage...

james_bond_rulez
11-30-2003, 09:49 PM
yeah so if ur isp knows ur doing it, tells u that ur doing it, and warns you not to do it.

then it's time to stop

if you dont and keep doing it, you got cut off from the internet, ur fucking own fault

i've heard on soulseek there was a pay proxy called p2pclean, but never needed to try it, i didn't follow up on it.

so far, the best way to avoid all this crap imo is to tunnel a socks5 through http anonymous and get a program that will re-write the headers(like dkboost).

This is my suggestion:

1.Use SOCKSCAP32

This software gives anything the ability to use proxy.Or you can combine SOCKSCAP32+HTTPPORT and clarking software which support HTTP.Or you can use some software which protect filesharing,of course you'll have to pay,and I forget It's name(I know it's name begin with 'p')

However I didn't try any of these because I AM FROM TAIWAN ^_^.

2.Goto eraser.sourceforge.net

Download Eraser 5.7. One you are sued, you can shred all your files in an hour.Destroying file content, file name, file size, date using Peter Gutmann's algorithm which overwrite disk space 35 times making file totally unrecoverable even by police.Eraser 5.7 also includes DBAN(Dirik's boot and nuke )which allow you to create a boot disk which shred all hard drive information using Peter Gutmann's 35 times overwriting method. If DBAN doesn't work, try using Acronis Drive Cleanser which you can download via Overnet!

P.S:To make HD information totally unrecoverable you have to destroy magnetic field by throwing your harddisk to flame or overwrite it for at least three times
