Anthems

Having seen the recent debacle of the wrong national Anthem being played for Spain. Do members think that anthems and tunes really matter in circumstances such as these. Your views please.


A hilarious incident comes to mind about the girl that wanted the theme tune from Robin Prince of Thieves played as her wedding march. The organist played Robin Hood, Robin Hood riding through the glen etc. :lol:

Still 3/4's asleep here so if this doesn't make much sense then :P lol

I'd say Anthem's do matter, for me at least when it comes to football, as it help's set the mood for a match and get's the player's and fan's into the spirit of thing's :)

As for the girl that ended up with the wrong song being played at her wedding, well, doesn't it go a bit like -

"Riding through the glen, With his merry men"?

- If so, I dred to think how many men rode through her glen once she was married if he had alot of friend rofl :lol: :D

I am from Finland and i've known about the similarities for loooong time,
personally i think its a rip off, but which way? :P

Personally, i think anthems are pretty cool and i have np with them,
playing wrong song or playing the song poorly is a NoNo i think,
better not play at all then...

As for football/hockey "anthems", i havent heard a good one yet. ;)
oh wait, the Dallas Stars the hockey team had Pantera made "anthem",
tha was pretty cool.

For the weddings, ppl should get to play what they want but Robin Hood...? :lol:
