Howdy!
I had a problem on a site and I would need an opinion.
About a month ago I got disabled on a tracker and after 3 weeks I managed to recover it. The moderator I spoke told me that the reason my account was disabled was because I used a proxy. I "rummaged" through the computer and the only thing I found was a browser extension, AdblockPlus. I want to know if this blocker behaves like a proxy or is it actually a proxy.
Currently I have disabled the extension on several trackers.

Not as far as I know. It's more likely that you used a free VPN (some browsers have that built-in) or mobile hotspot and this got detected as proxy usage.

By the way, uBlock and its forks are favored these days, since they're more flexible and resource consumption is much lower.

I remember that I once accessed the site using mobile's data, not hotspot.
And, is there a way to find out if my browser has that free VPN built-in? I'm using the latest Firefox update.

Then this seems like the most likely explanation. Most mobile carriers use CGNAT and can have hundreds of subscribers behind a single IP. To someone observing this from the server side, it may look like an open proxy. Not to mention that in extreme cases, providers don't secure their systems and it's actually possible to abuse them as such.

Firefox has one, but it's currently in beta, only available in a few countries and not free.
