Ever come across a great deal on hard drives, CDR's or DVD burners that you wanted to share?

Please do! Post information about sales on hardware here.

Please note: This is for posting prices and links only, it's not a discussion argument thread about what hardware is better, limit comments to pricing/value only. Also, we're from all over the world - please also make note of what country/area these prices apply to. :)

some people are dense...this is for posting the link, price, and what it is such as

Radeon 9800XT, Place to get it (http://www.placetogetit.com) , $15

Thats an example...were not asking for links to find good prices on, were looking for links to find the great deal someone found. Id expect this topic to get started right after christmas.

Don't know if you would really consider this hardware, it's more storage media than anything else, but whatever still a good deal.

Office Depot has Maxwell 50 pack CD-R's for buy 1 get 1 free.
They are 19.97 a 50 pack, so you can look at it, either 20 bucks for 100. or 50 for 10 bucks.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/msi_dr8-a.jpg (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/DVD_RW_Drives.html#acd_2d006_2dms)

MSI DR8-A 8x DVD±R/±RW - Retail (CD-006-MS)
With 8x high-speed writing, DR8-A takes less time to complete a 4.7GB DVD+R disc. ABS Technology absorbs shock and reduces vibrations, making reading and writing of discs more accurate. HD-BURN (High Density Burn) writing technology can record twice the capacity of specified CD-R discs. Supplied with Ahead Nero Burning ROM, CyberLink PowerDVD 4.0 Software, Sonic MyDVD + ShowBiz Software, audio cable and screws.

- 8x DVD+R writing / 4x DVD+RW rewriting
- 4x DVD-R writing / 2x DVD-RW rewriting / 12x DVD-ROM reading
- 40x CD-R writing / 24x CD-RW rewriting / 40x CD-ROM reading
- BURN-Proof? prevents buffer underrun and minimizes recording failures
- Supported 99 (870MB) or 90min (800MB) CD-R disc
- 2MB internal buffer
- Enhanced IDE/ATAPI interface

All for 96 quid, not bad. I can't find any reviews about the MSI DR8, but i'm going for this deal, under 100 quid for an 8x dvd writer seems pretty sweet. <s>I'd hurry if i was u, the deal either ends at 5pm or midnight (not sure which) </s>

<s>OFFER ENDS TODAY</s>

Seems like they made it run indefinitely

Is there a place like this for the day after xmas??

yes, there is a place called ledmdx.com with 4.8 processors with fans that blow at 12 mgh'rs with 14 998 mgx 95's, so pretty much all you have to do is blow through the wire cords to make the screen appear to be a lion cub and your all good. The screensavers the hard part tho, you need to drink dr. pepper before the proccess is completed. so pretty much if your processor is at 985 gghts with 14.6922 of access space the mother board is complete.

It's all a marketing scheme. I love walking into a store like that and telling all the PC customers that newegg.com can give em 20-30% off the the same product! :naughty:

Got a 21" Samsung LCD SyncMaster 215tw for $100. Bought CompUSA's two year warranty on my old 19" SyncMaster which cost $250. Policy covered up to $400 bucks, so I went for the $500 21" SyncMaster and only payed $100 as price difference. Good Stuff.

Next time you go to CompUSA, make sure you "GET" the warranty. It'll be feckin worth every penny in 2 years...Muhahahaha

Newegg.com was my favorite place to go for non static damagable items (they use static charged peanuts to ship motherboards and graphics cards, a big no no). But something changed, I don't know if an a hole took over as Ceo or what but their return policy and restocking fees have turned me off. Besides the fact that out of the last 6 items I bought I had to return 4 and pay shipping back to them. This effectively cancels any savings you might get by ordering on line.
Another once great site down the tubes all for the almighty dollar. Greed is at the forefront of these kind of failures to maintain a customer friendly site.
I started at Tiger Direct, although they're prices are not as low, I probably sent one item back out of 25.

I love what New Egg offers but they don't ship to Canada :(

I'm still using my Dell Ispiron 6400 I got last June. Got a great deal on it and I notice they have a few deals on right now. If you're looking for a laptop, Dell seems to make decent laptops (I build my own desktops, though) :)
