all your issues relating to grafix cards can be brought here! (unless you overclocked and suddenly ur card doesnt work)
common probs:
the nVidia overclocker overclocked my card by about 50% and sed it would work. now, the graphics are stained with thin horizontal rectangles. what do i do???
it overclocked WAY too much. bring it down to default and overclock by 2 mhz
each step manually until the rectangles come back. once they do, drop 2 mhz
lower and you have successfully overclocked! (better have a good fan...)
my ATI card boots only once, then wont boot at all! no beep, nothing! what do i do???
return ur ati card. this is an incompatibility issue
why is my card reading insane temps?
3 possibilities:
1) temp sensor is bad (warranty coverage helps here)
2) poor ventilation (get a case fan)
3) poor cooling (or improperly mounted) (fix it! get a new cooler!)
why is TVout so blurrry?
1) defective card (warranty, of course)
2: incompatibility issue (return/exchange your card for a better 1)
my card wont fit! is it safe to bend it into place?
NO!
Whos better, Ati or nVidia?
your pick, you want med-fast but hushed? or want fast but damn loud?
what about matrox?
Hey! i love matrox! looks like we have something in common good man!
Why is my Matrox Parhelia sooooo sssslllloooowwww????
becuz it actually works BETTER on higher settings (until u reach 1280 x 960)
My Q isnt listed here!
did u read ur owners manual/call tech support?
Yes i did!
then post it!!! me or some other person, like clocker, might be able to handle ur
issue!

Hmm...why dont you prove to the board you know something about hardware..you seem new to me...or maybe you just switched names..and I think hes trying to get this pinned or something.

atividia,
Perhaps you could share some of your qualifications as a video card expert.
That would help us decide how much creedence to give your responses.
Personally, I know very little about them as I am not a gamer, and have only owned two graphics cards in my short PC career.
A real expert would be a welcome addition to our little world.
A real bullshit artist would be quickly exposed.

i know you didn't mean it but the whole bullshit artist i think he got the idea it was just a little harsh even if you didn't mean to be it sounded like you were calling him a bullshit artist

Reread my post please.
I didn't call him anything.
I hardly think it's unreasonable, or "harsh", to ask a self-declared expert to provide some credentials.

as a newb i am not allowed to post such things?
if I was trying to get it pinned I would try harder and post a bigger list of Qs
this is simple, see if i can get some issues solved here and then let this post die
if i see that more issues are being brought up with the cards then i may make a bigger list and then try to have it pinned

actually, ive been building solid PCs for a year now (and making quite a lot of profit too  )
by "solid" i mean well-working, no hardware issues from improper assembly
these PCs are your typical gamer PCs, using gF4s and radeon 9x00s
many issues that I have come across were actual graphics card issues
overheating with the gf4TIs were not uncommon, and the same with the
radeon 9(7/5)00s Many of these issues were based on poor air circulation, or I made the foolish mistake of putting the card right next to another card, without proper cooldown
So, i learned many of these issues over trial and error
I believe i can fix 90% of the issues on this board, which relate to displays of any sort.

graphics :)
the questions dealt with in this 'guide' are mainly subjective anyway, the ones which aren't can't be accurately answered without providing more information :)

well, he said his spelling was fine, and then he pointed out someone else's bad spelling...
i just think that if someone is gunning for a pinned topic, they should at least learn to spell correctly :)
