For me, I disabled viewing avatars, it's just slowing your machine.

Your just press the IMG button and enter the url of the picture for example.
http://www.picture.com/picture.gif you must include the end of the url to get that you need to right click on the picture and hit properties then copy and paste that.
Camile I guess Musle is trying to ask why if you know that it slows down peoples machines are you using one? You disabled viewing of them for yourself but make other people view your one that you can't even see so their machine "suffers".

Well, that's my prerogative. It's up to the members if they want to disable viewing avatars. My existing avatar is quite simple unlike the others, moving.

Hi,
I never attempted to install an image into one of my replies or posts before so as a test I went to Upload-It > Browsed for a pic (.jpg) > it uploaded and I copied the .url to my test reply using IMG as instructed > the http .url appeared in my reply > I clicked on "Preview Post" and > "User Posted Image" appeared in the reply preview but the image never did (I gave it about 10 minutes).
Where did I go wrong?
Thanks,
mrlessk

Ok, maybe this is the problem. I simply copied then pasted the url that Upload-It created. I clicked on "IMG" and pasted into that http window....same process that I would do if I wanted to post a web-site here using the "http://" button above but using the "IMG" button.
Since Update-It is now the server for that image file, wouldn't that be correct?

Now you're losing me....I thought the site I uploaded to was the K-Lite Forum?

I uploaded the pic to Upload-It from My Documents/My Pictures.

by the way, for this test the pic I chose is 20.1KB, 500X500.

Ok, here is the link that was created when I clicked on IMG above.

http://server4.uploadit.org/files/051203-lillyR2.jpg

Thanks for your help MUSLEMAN,
mrlessk

Well now! Voila! I see the pic opened right away when I clicked on Preview Post.
Being it is 500X500 I now know I could edit a pic smaller.
Ok, I think I got it....please feel free to offer any suggestions or advice.
Thanks again! :beerchug:

well look like you got it all i was saying was:

yourfiles>>uploaded>>>site to host your pic(in this case its "http://server4.uploadit.org")

then, from the site hosting your pic>>>linked>>>> to klite

i was just telling you to make sure that server4uploadit allows you to link to other sites(some places don't, and i did not know you were using server4uploadit til now)

Yep, understood MUSLEMAN.
