Well I have a laptop and my desktop computer ok now I got a lot of important files on my laptop that I need to get onto my other computer. But how exactly am I going to do this I can't send it through the net and the laptop hasn't got a burner. So is their a way I can setup a LAN or even just buy a cord so I can send files between the computers? Both are running Windows XP and I repeat I can't send them through ftp, msn , p2p etc . .anything involving the internet.

i think there is software for this, you use your USB cord. but i think its mostly used for desktop to laptop not laptop to desktop

buy a crossover network cable, and you can plug it into both any they will be networked and you can transfer files.

or if u want you could invest in a router, then both machines could acces the internet at the same time, or even up to 4 machines or more. and u could transfer over the network in the same way.

it wouldnt matter what way it was going it wouldnt make any difference, as they are both computers.

Yeah, there is software for doing this.

No, it doesn't matter if it's 2 laptops or 1 of each. As long as you have the necessary ports.

I thought WinXP had a file transfer wizard for doing this.

A Google search should help you plenty..

Good luck.
