Please help me, Norton Anti-Virus 2003 has informed me that i have been infected with a virus:

W32.HLLW.STUDD

I went to there website HEREand followed the directions....

but i still have it...

the funny thing is that it says that norton can fix it. but it hasn't, and i can't stand that virus window...

someone please help me.
-i dont want to call Norton and pay $$$$$$ for help...


W32.HLLW.Studd is a worm that attempts to spread through the KaZaA, IRC, network shares, as well as the mapped network drives. An attacker can remotely control the infected hosts through IRC.

The worm is written in the Delphi programming language.

Type: Worm
Infection Length: 3,534,482 bytes
Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP
Systems Not Affected: DOS, Linux, Macintosh, OS/2, UNIX, Windows 3.x


HELP ME DELETE THIS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

boot up in safe mode and delete the file yourself, press the f8 key as the puter boots up. try that. plus delete the files were you got the virus from, prolly something you d-loaded from kazaa

For one disable system restore. Then follow norton's instructions.

ok...
i followed exactly what that site said, i did disable system restore and done a full scan but the virus was deteced but couldnt be deleted..
\

now as for the other thing...

i have no idea with what program did that virus come with?

and under safe mode, I HAVENT TRIED YET, i will now....\

so when do i press the f8 key?

willing my pc is booting up?

start pressing the f8 key as soon as your keyboard lights flash, press like once every second, you should get to it then

Did you download the removal tool for that virus? Norton usually releases a removal tool.

I think you probably already visited that website though. I couldn't find the removal tool. Sorry. I guess it wasn't released with this virus.

The best way you can remove this tool is to follow the instructions on the website posted above. Print out the page and get to it. :)

Try this software you might succeed. Move on boot (http://www.webattack.com/get/moveonboot.shtml) You can delete it after booting.

another option is to dl another anti virus prog

try AVG it's free www.grisoft.com I think :)

it will catch & delete things norton won't

I know this from experience ;)
