the best way i know of really cleaning your HD is with a program called GWSCAN. if you go to gateways website, download it onto a 3.5 floppy, and boot up with it, you get the option to go to dos, then you just type GWSCAN, and youll see the option to write zero's to your drive. *this program will erase EVERTHING on the drive you select*, so if that isnt what you want, then dont use it. click here to go there (http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn&param=7513666) . and it works with ANY hard drive larger than 10gb. :)

There is no difference between xp pro and xp corp, except activation. On xp corp you will see xp pro logo, so dont be surprised by that once you download the english version.

you have to have a empty floppy disc in your a: drive for GWSCAN to extract

About formatting your hard drive; you can simply run a quick or normal format when you install Windows XP for the first time. Anything other type of format, like a low level format, is really not necessary except if you are super paranoid and think the CIA is watching you. ;)

It is gonna ask you to format anyway, especially if you want to use NTFS instead of FAT, which you should because it is much better. You can download Windows XP with SP1 integrated from eMule or Kazaa. If you are up to it, you can also download the latest Longhorn build from SuprNova.org, which is much, much better than the last one.

try re-installing it, and pay close attention to the options that come up, and see what happens

Just learn to read Polish.

Or get it from eMule. it is much more organized than kazaa is for programs and games

i just quickly read through this thread, but shouldn't the -pl part in the filename have told you it was polish?

Nope, no such thing. The language in the OS is compiled with the code.

hello m8. I encountered the same problem... actually, I am running the polish xp now. I have the english version someone suggested in reply to my post, but the keys in the serial.txt does not work... Any suggestions... I also tried using the xpkey.exe program, but was advised that it does not work on sp1 installed versions.

Those keys work.

The problem is that the Corporate version can only do a clean installation, not upgrade from a previous OS.

So you need to do a clean install with the english corp version and the keys will work.
