I'm using nero 6 to burn my bin/cue images. I used to have both easy cd creator 5 (piece of crap) and nero installed and the bins burned fine.

now that i have uninstalled ECDC5, the bins that i burn with nero turn out to be blank. i can see that the surface has been written on, but my computer doesnt recognize any of the files and says 0 bytes of data.

i am able to burn any other type of files except for bin/cues. if i want to burn them, i have to first extract their contents using isobuster. this obviously takes time and i want to fix it.

do i have to reinstall ECDC5 or is there another way to fix the problem?

are you burning the file as an image using nero?

Open your Cue with notepad and make sure the name ends in .bin and not .cue
The name inside you cue should end in .bin the name under your cue should end in .cue

omg, didnt u guys read me first post?

it was working up until i got rid of easy cd creator

i know about bins and cues, thats not the problem

when i uninstalled it it must have removed something to do with bins and cues, even though easy cd creator cant do that.

nero says that the burn was successful, but it appears blank to windows explorer and other programs.

Perhaps the ASPI drivers were uninstalled along with EZCD.
Try installing the latest ASPI drivers from Adaptec. Go here (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=%2fProduct%2fASPI-4.70&prodkey=ASPI-4.70).

My burning program stopped working when some of the aspi files were updated to the newer 4.7 versions. I used ForceASPI (http://radified.com/ASPI/forceaspi.htm) to go back to the 4.6 versions, which work fine.

You can use aspichk (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&cat=/Product/EZ-SCSI_5.0&filekey=aspichk.exe) to check the current ones installed.

download and install this (http://adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&filekey=aspi32.exe&language=English+US). reboot your computer and run aspichk again.

thanks, but i have XP, and the site said not to use this if you have xp:

Caution:
Do NOT install ASPI32.EXE with Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Easy CD Creator 4.x, or with Windows Media Player 7.0. If you have one of these applications (or operating systems), you will be using a different aspi layer that will conflict with the one provided in this file.

mind finding the right one for me?

it is the right one.....it can still be used with xp. ;)

edit.....it installs the same files as forceaspi would.

That is the version I am using on xp. It works for me, the newer versions did not. ForceASPI will install them for you by running instaspi.bat in the forceaspi folder.

I have had the same problem you had ONCE, but it was because the cue was mis named.

Use try using Alcohol 120 % it is much better than Nero anyway

:nono: its only purpose is bin's and backing up games, nero is completely different, it does everything so its hard to say that alcohol 120 is better than nero

you could say it burns bin's/cue better than nero but even thats debatable

EDIT:thanks for the new smiley, I used to use my own : nono :  http://members.cox.net/dodger1954/pics/nono.gif
