What game maker program is the best? Where do I download it?

dark basic (http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/) is meant to be excellent for creating games.

but i think the professionals use c to create their games.

I made one years ago for coco3 tandy it was like a simple word game like zork, but I lost it a long time ago :cry1:

lol last time i tried to make a piratre adventure game in c. all it was about was these little ships moving around the screen.

omg was i hard. still i learned to use the windows api which was the biggest challenge.
