I decided to upgrade to K-Lite K++ version 2.4.3 (the newest version) and now I have this...

All BLACK buttons and wierd graphics.

All "PLAY" buttons, no PAUSE.

And the software crashes.

I installed WinXP 3 times. I even tried 3 different graphics cards too.

I posted a pic of my desktop thats the same way in a earlier thread. Oddly enough mine did'nt start untill I had 2.4.3 downloaded for a week or so. It was right when I installed a Microsoft Windows update NVIDIA Display Driver.

Are your Icons in theatre for pause, play, etc. all the same like mine (what play alone should be)?

Oh yeah religiously.I run ad-aware & Spybot both. AVG, and even online test. I wish Spindulik would reply back I thought I had it narrowed down to NVIDIA update but if thats not the case with him. I guess I'm back to square one. Now since last night with the new crap showing up I can't put this off, I've got to find a solution. I'm afraid now it might possibly do some perminent damage. Any help from anybody would be great. :(

I did update with NVIDIA. And all of the VGA cards that I used are NVIDIA.


I haven't gotten any popups. I use AdAware and other software to keep my PC clean.

Yes this happens to me too, and if I try to open up Internet explorer at the same time IE does the same thing except it has huge fonts, and sometimes my desktop wallpaper will disappear! :lol: Oddly enough everything goes back to normal if you shut Kazaa down then restart it.

Did'nt explain that very well, its not a pop-up but an icon in system tray that I right clicked and info comes up for program. I'm dangerously low of hard drive space about a half a gig and when I rebooted its not showing the black background/shadow wtf.

Older version of k-lite, and a little of everything.

I had the same problem guys but I have XP and 98SE so I just run it on 98SE now it works great on that but on XP it goes all weird, one sugestion that I never tried might be 2 try changing ur KaZaA Skin? Just a thought. It is obviously sumthing 2 do with XP but u never no what might help. A good Registry healer/cleaner might help stabalise it 2.

I opened my kazaa lite...same version...and that pic u have has a different Kazaa symbol in the upper left corner of the app.

Where did u get this copy from?

Try using classic windows and see if that helps.
also, try uninstalling the whole app and cleaning the reg of all entries and then installing fresh.

You need to go to the options section and untick that box where it says "Disable uploads to other users". Then other users will be able to upload from you again, and you will see what they are getting by looking at the bottom half of the screen. ;)

I've got exactly the same problem as the intial post. Tried the clean install but still the same problem. I think it happened when I did an Windows Update for XP and restarted without closing K++ first. I can live with it as everything works the same as before but it does look crap.

I am betting that the guy with half a gig of HD space is not leaving enough diskspace. Try deleting some stuff, emptying your recycle bin, and restarting the program. If the program is still screwed, then reboot.

i think its a trojan or virus installed in some versions of 2.4.3, anyone could of altered it and posted it for download. mine dont have any problems what so ever so im good :D

you updated your display drivers.

roll them back, this fixes it.

Do a system restore back to the time before you updated drivers.

Did a System Restore before the Windows Update(check your installation history on the Windows Update website for the date)and did a fresh install of K++ and now everythings back to normal! Thanks for the help.

PS. Do not install the Nvidia Driver update if you have XP and K++.

hey..even i had that problem a few weeks ago....its all abt the new detonator drivers from nvidia..just rollback to the last one (pre 50 somethings) ..im guessing 45.**...see if that helps..it worked for me..i know its a pain....but id rather have my programs look normal
